Just don't get the Pickpockets one. Holy shit it's annoying. Random NPCs steal money from you if you touch them and if you try to kill them to get your money back 1. You're a criminal and 2. They don't even drop your money.

There is a mod that makes your attacks always hit if you're in range. Never tried it but that might help you get over the hump, since eventually all your attacks do connect anyway.

I'd also suggest not going overboard with the mods. Get some graphical mods to make it look enjoyable to you, get the must-have bug fix and QOL patches/mods, and maybe a few content mods for quests, weapons, armor, whatever. Just try to keep it a vanilla-esque experience or you will just feel lost.

This is my problem with Bethesda games. I make a new character and play for a while and have a blast doing everything I can but then for whatever reason I always end up not getting back to the playthrough for a while and by that point, it'd be too confusing to just jump back in so I make a new character. Maybe Combat Enhanced. Needs the Morrowind Enhanced mod too.

It adds combos. Like for one handed swords you might be able to do like

And let's say it does a power attack with a lot of damage

Makes them take damage over time (bleeding)

Drains their stamina and makes them fall to the ground

Stuff like that. There's documentation on it, and last I remember someone made a mod that adds a book to the game with all the combos for all the weapons. Combos depend on weapon skill. If you have 40 longblade you can't use the level 80 longblade skill.

Did you guys make any fun/different builds? My favorite was probably my Orc magehunter. I couldn't come up with a better name, but he was basically an anti-magic warrior. I liked Orcs and thought of it because of their high Endurance, Willpower and magic resist. He used a bit of magic himself, usually disabling Illusion, Alteration or Mysticism spells.

The problem would be the popularity of the compilation. Even if you just steal the mods making them work together is a pain in the ass and not worth it if every popular modding site will reject it. Sure you could upload it to your own site or mega or somesuch but only a handful of people would be aware of it and it would be a wasted effort. If you happen to get Combat Enhanced, you do need Morrowind Enhanced. It's a program you open before running morrowind. Set it to autolaunch morrowind though. It also lets you change multipliers for all NPCs if you want, like make all of them have 30% extra HP, or make all of them block at least 30% of the time. There are also some other mods that work with Morrowind Enhanced

Goes well with Combat Enhanced. Basically nullifies the blocking skill and instead sets your blocking to 0%, but lets you assign a key (say, C) that makes blocking 100%. So basically you hold down a key to block, like in Skyrim, and while you do not press this key, you do not block, ever.

Lets you buy blank scrolls, books, papers, etc, then use quill/ink to write whatever you want on them and title them.

My favorite was a support mage with restoration/alteration/illusion and other support stuff. I hired a leveling companion that levels with you from a mod, then kept her the whole game. I let her do most of the combat and made sure she was buffed and I would cast debilitation on enemies. One of my favorite things to do was to make us both invisible then move up to an enemy and start fighting all of a sudden.

Oh yeah totally, but that's all the work of making a modpack, isn't it? Other people have already done the other pieces of work, it's your job to make them play nice together.

If it's good people will talk about it. For something as niche as Morrowind modding word of mouth is fine. I would probably be making such a pack for my own enjoyment as well, anyway, so that's a good reward.

You have some good points but in the end if I were going to make a modpack out of a bunch of good mods and upload it for others to use, I'm not going to bother tracking down every single person and asking permission. It's more of a hassle than whatever "help" they'd personally be giving me anyway. Especially since half of them will probably be unreachable.

Ditch those daggers and get yourself a nice shortsword. Same skill (short blade). Archery is a bitch sometimes because it misses a fair bit and has weird collision bugs where it gets caught in an invisible mesh or some shit. Make sure your agility is high enough to support such a build. Drop achemy. Make it a minor if anything. You should reserve major skills for useful stuff (unless you are role playing) because it's not easy to level up your skills (without much game knowledge prior). Probably an armor class or a useful magic class instead of alchemy as a major skill. I SUPER recommend you check in the box for "toggle sneaking" in the morrowind code patch (and if you haven't installed that, do so now, unless you are using OpenMW)

Morrowind had the best lore and world. Oblivion had the most memorable quests. Skyrim had the best immersive atmosphere.

Likewise, Morrowind has the most janky, least optimized experience. Oblivion has too many concessions between a broader audience and the core audience. And Skyrim is just throwing all the RPG aspects to the wind and creating an Adventure game with a mockery of RPG elements. Yeah, its an RPG, but it's not a good one.

Hi, I recently picked up Morrowind again with MGSO and have been enjoying the game quite a bit. A nice shortsword is better than a dagger. It's still a short blade. Daggers just aren't well designed in the game. The Daedric dagger is half decent but everthing else has extremely small damage and the attack speed doesn't justify it. It would be OK if there stealth attack bonuses scaled off weapon type like in Skyrim.

Alchemy as a major is not good if you don't know exactly what you're doing. You're better off maining illusion. You can do things with illusion such as go invisible, or paralyze enemies with a long distance spell while stealthed (after which you CAN run up to them and hit them for the stealth bonus)

You can run stealth just fine, but main illusion. It's pretty easy to just toss an on-target ranged paralyze spell on someone who hasn't seen you, then go stab them with a stealth damage bonus. Illusion also has all the invisiblity spells.

However if you wanna go normal melee, either one is fine. I personally think the heavy armors look better. You could go medium armor too. Light armors don't look as good in my opinion (most of them) but you can move a lot faster in them, and you could always install some mods for good armor of a certain weight class if you really want.

I'm using a program called Vorpx but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it because it costs 40 fucking hamburgers. It let's you play a decent number of DX 9 - 11 games on Oculus or Vive. I use a Vive personally. This is the program most people are using to play Skyrim and GTAV I believe.

HUDs are an issue. In newer games you can scale them with Vorpx so that they are closer to the center of the screen, but you can't do that with Morrowind or Deus Ex which are two games I'm playing around in right now. The 3D effect is also a little bit off in Morrowind.

If you have Virtual Desktop or something like it, you can play on a big projected screen and not have the HUD issue, but the immersion isn't the same. It doesn't make you feel spewy though, so there's that.

Fine I'll explain.

There aren't enough TES releases or news to really justify and fuel a general thread. So what happens in both Fallout General and TES General is people discuss the new game and the old games to their hearts content then slip away to different games as they get bored. Then the only people that are left are creepy fags that play with their dolls and obsess over their waifus. They're there all the time but when 9/10 posts are discussing the game it isn't really noticeable.

This repeats but each time a new game comes out there are more waifuposters than there were before. They were there the whole time. When a new game comes out they were already there.

So just in general /vg/ is awful to discuss the game because you have to cut through all this mod-approved avatar-fagging bloat that isn't even about the game really it's about building a digital gf to whore out with screenshots for the payment of attention.

Instead we have a couple threads now and then about the game on /v/ - Video Games, and then we go our ways until a new game releases.

It does use MGE XE, but it's one version behind so it lacks the ability to scale the UI, but this can be remedied by just replacing the one provided by MGSO with the newer version.

It has shadows on high/ultra settings and it thoroughly wrecks my poor 770 at the highest settings. Looks nice though, especially if you tinker with the water caustics.

There are mods that boost the damage of staffs
But by itself, not really. Not unless you take an ebony staff and enchant the fuck out of it. You can do 700+ damage though that way, without any help with alchemy and staff. You could probably roleplay that it's Ki from the monk's power.

I want to replay this game abusing enchant. I mean the part where the "cast when used/strikes" kind of enchanted items slowly recharge on their own, with the charging speed increased by enchant. It would play like a mage except the mana comes from enchanted items.
Now the question is what skills and attributes will i need besides enchant? Other magic skills are pretty much irrelevant. Willpower won't change anyting, even int only changes the success rate when enchanting on my own, so i'm not sure if i need it high. It seems to me that i can pretty much tag melee skills and have high str/angi/end.
Does anyone have experience with a similar build?
