REMINDER: THIS IS A REDORAN THREAD. NO HLAALU ALLOWED
INDORIL ARE TOLERATED
Daily reminder that in the next TES game Sotha Sil returns. It's set in Elsweyr, and he proclaims he cheated death and that he is stronger than a Daedric Prince. A lot of Khajiit follow him as a god, and you have a task to stop him by the Thalmor. You can choose to either help Sotha Sil to drive the Thalmor out or kill Sotha Sil for good.
It is later found out that he was revived by a Daedric Prince to please him

In Dragonborn you learn that because of you killing Dagoth Ur and destroying Lorkhan's heart the Tribunal's power dimished as expected (so only Vivec's) and the meteorite that Sheogorath sent to destroy Vivec crashed into the city, which caused the Red Year.
It is only safe to assume that Vivec didn't make it

REMEMBER REDORAN
I am very much confused by what CHIM means? My friend tells me it's breaking the 4th wall, realizing you're just a character in a video game and that knowing that means you achieved godhood.
Is my friend bullshiting me or what?
>>340738484
nah thats just a metaphor
>>340738296
>it's only safe to assume one of the most powerful characters in the series couldn't escape a volcano eruption he knew was going to happen.
Vivec achieved CHIM and is not fuelled by the heart of lorkhan any more.
>>340738583
pretty sure he didn't have CHIM any more by the events of morrowind
>>340738484
It is too complex to explain and no one really gets it from the explanations I've seen.
You either have people who dismiss it outright or get a half assed explanation.
The best explanation was when some anon linked a book, but I forgot it's name.
>>340738484
It's nothing to do with video games. The player character does not achieve CHIM.
CHIM is the realisation of how the universe really works, that is, realising that you're just an imaginary concept in the dream of the real god, but instead of accepting your non-existence, defying that and demanding that you are real. At that point you can bend reality as you know it to your own will, like the dreaming godhead would.
>>340738245
>WHERE'S YOUR UNIFORM?
I fucking hate the legion just because you have to wear that awful cuirass or every single Imperial guard you see will utter that line in terrifying unison at unholy decibel levels.
>>340738715
You can't unachieve CHIM.
>>340738865
the whole point of chim is that you're teetering on the razor's edge between zero-summing and being a regular citizen isnt it
>>340738796
Not the anon you were responding to, but what the fuck does this have to do with the actual games and characters in said games?
Because it sounds like a crock of fanfic bullshit.
>>340737565

>>340737565

>>340738315
The Redoran stronghold is awesome. Hlaalu just make some villa on a hill in the rich area, Telvanni grow a mushroom in most remote place they can, probably so you'll fuck off there and never bother them again, but Redoran make a mini town on a dangerous pilgrimage road. It just being there probably saves loads of lives.
>>340738926
No. You come to the realisation and either accept that you're not real, which causes to to zero-sum and cease to exist, or you refuse to accept you are not real and achieve CHIM.
>>340738927
It has nothing to do with the actual games. The plots to each game are relatively mundane.

Quarra is broken though, unless one of the unofficial patches fixes it.
I remember stumbling on their headquarters when looking for the Ashlander camp. I went in with steel armour and a shit longsword and came out in full ebony and with an enchanted glass sword, it felt awesome.
>>340739160
or you un-realize it again and go back to dreaming
it's not like the whole thing is as easy as toking up on some skooma and going "duuude, what if the universe was, like, a dream", and poof, you're either gone or a god
the path to zero-summing alone is fucking grueling, drilling the idea into the core of your being
it's perfectly possible to lose that
in fact it requires constant effort to not lose it
>>340739258
From the 36 Lessons of Vivec as well as out-of-game explanations of concepts by one of Morrowind's writers
>>340739160
>or you refuse to accept you are not real and achieve CHIM
That's wrong.
The Tower is an ideal, which, in our world of myth and magic, means that it is so real that it becomes dangerous. It is the existence of the True Self within the Universal Self …
[The secret of the Tower is h]ow to permanently exist beyond duplexity, antithesis, or trouble. This is not an easy concept, I know. Imagine being able to feel with all of your senses the relentless alien terror that is God and your place in it, which is everywhere and therefore nowhere, and realizing that it means the total dissolution of your individuality into boundless being. Imagine that and then still being able to say “I”. The “I” is the Tower.”
>>340739496
What's the trade off for achieving CHIM anyway? You don't even get any godly abilities for it, just a constant danger of vanishing into nothingness.
Also, if the God generating the Elder Scrolls universe is dreaming then surely it'll wake up someday?
I wish the Dragonborn dlc didn't retcon the destruction of Morrowind to leave Redoran virtually unscathed and the mainland to be mostly inhabitable.
I enjoyed the concept that everything I loved about Morrowind was lost forever. It fit well with the direction the series was taking from the point of view of the gameplay.

He's been on the writing team for Oblivion and Skryim too, champ. If they didn't like what he was writing they wouldn't keep hiring him.
I'm also pretty sure the reason he doesn't work there full time is disagreements with other writers. No idea who exactly, but I'm betting Emil Pagliarulo is one of them.
>>340738953
What was in ESO?
>>340740459
He left literally during Morrowind's development. His only influence on further games is being allowed to write a few books for the newer ones, but he's not an employee. I'd hardly consider him "hired".
And yeah, the reason he left is almost certainly the fact that he's a massive asshole, you can see that in the way he lords around the elder scrolls reddit as if he's a god.
He's just an egotist who latched onto this shit because he has nothing else. He literally gets people banned if they so much as mention the fact he has no actual authority on what is and is not canon.
He peaked during the writing of Morrowind, and he can't let go, so he's delusional clinger-on.
You fucks need to stop giving him credit so he'll finally just go away, stop writing fanfiction, and move on with his life.

His peak being fanfiction instead of actual work he's done on a game is pretty pathetic.
I refuse to even read it because I don't want to become one have his brainwashed faggot flock who start chirping about his antics as if it has any bearing on the actual lore of this series.
For some strange reason I enjoyed playing this more on the xbox hueg than on PC.
>>340741513

>>340741513
Why are you so fucking mad? Seriously, you're acting like a total fucking sperg so you don't get the right to call people who enjoy this shit autists. I couldn't give less of a fuck if his work is "canon" or not, that doesn't stop it existing and it's not like this shit has ever been really crucial to the plot of TES games. I like reading them because his stuff is very unique and he has some expansive ideas on all the metaphysics.
>>340741216
sounds like a bug related to drain strength. I think it's supposed to go away when they die but it doesn't. Try resting for a couple hours. If not, then see if you have anything to drink that gives +strength, like any alcoholic drink. Otherwise,Open the console with ~ and type "tgm" without quotes, walk to a shrine and restore attributes, open the console and type "tgm" again to turn it off
You should ALWAYS carry with you a custom made restoration spell that restores all attributes by like 20 for 1 second. Super useful. I think the mages' guild people in Balmora might sell some of those spells, and there's a spellmaker there. At least restore strength. Check the temple, maybe they sell the spells there. I know for a fact someone in Fort Pelagiad sells restore strength. If nothing else, carry some stoneflower petals, or craft some potions to restore strength. Someone in the Balmora temple sells the petals, or you can gather them yourself as you walk.
What is essential alchemy? What ingredients are worth stopping for?

The reason I'm sperging out is because every time I used to hear people bring that guy's name up non-retards would just snort at them and tell them to fuck off.
Nowadays that's not happening anymore because the bulk of visitors to these threads have been replaced by you naive fresh-faced tards, and it's ridiculous. There's actual canon shit to talk about, when you yap about that manchild's work you confuse others as to what is actually true and continue the cycle of kids thinking that shit is genuine.
What is happening is people get absorbed with Elder Scrolls lore because they have an inquisitive spirit, and then they get sucked into that egotists sphere of bullshit and they come out speaking of his "le deep and philosophical metaphysics" with a smug attitude, made more annoying by the fact that what they're talking about is, as I said like three times before, literally fanfiction with no bearing.
Go start a Morrowind fanfiction thread over on /lit/ or something if you want to talk about that shit.
>>340742018

>>340742742
I'll say this, the stuff Kirkbride talks about is interesting enough, nothing wrong with it's quality.
The sticking point for me is that people put it on a pedestal as if he has more credibility than anyone else, which is wrong.
Fucking lore *you* decide to just start making up is just as valid as his.
What he's got going for him is a cult of personality dedicated to his shit to the point they don't realize that.

Shortly after that C0DA was moved to the from the lore forum to the fanfic section of the official Bethesda forum. That probably did not work as intended.

What is a build to become a massive jew money hoarder
>All these barbarian swine clinging to their shitty false reality
>>340744898
For that all you need is the tools. Any build can acquire them. Telekinesis spell to steal from right under the NPC noses, by positioning yourself cleverly. Levitation to get the good stuff that's hidden away in daedric shrines, mark and recall, almsivi and divine intervations to travel quickly. Mysticism in general is a great school, so you could choose to major in it to save the training costs early on if getting as much dosh as possible as easily as possible is your main concern. You can also get mercantile but it's usually unnecessary, just use the Scamp or the Crab.

>>340744132
People do not understand c0da
It's not fighting Bethesda Canon or anything of that sort, it if starting the obvious which is not so obvious fot some reason... That fiction is fucking made up and ultimately the largest part of interpretation of fiction is on reader, you makes the fictional world yours and the world in your mind will always be personalized. Canon is not actually a physical thing that can stop your imagination, it's just a frame of reference that writers of the game use and obviously a frame you need to consider.

>>340746323
what you dont understand is that calling c0da 'non canon' or 'fanfic' does nothing to damage it, if in your game vivec died then he died, if in my game he turned into a mudcrab and lived out the rest of eternity on a rocky beach then thats what he did, thats all that c0da says, you can ignore it if you want but you dont have to be obnoxious and detract from other peoples discussion.

Slow movement is actually an important part of the game. If you have mark, recall, both teleports, a decent levitation spell, and boots of blinding speed, the game becomes pretty short. It also helps to know the appropriate fast travel stations like boats and silt striders.
>>340748774
if you walk diagonally you move faster, youll also level athletics and speed as the game progresses, as for the writing that gets more interesting the further you progress, but the main draw of the game is exploring the world/lore, if you cant have fun doing that then you wont have fun with the game.
>>340749007
I find it cool and all that instead of trees we get giant ass mushrooms and colossal bugs for transport. But that's about it.
It's a lot of empty roads that my character all but crawls through. >>340749306
I had the opposite feeling
Quests had flavor to them, and as for giant banners and tree mushrooms and walking bugs... What made it real for me was that those trees actually had lore tied to them, that symbology on temples was real and had faux history.
I guess I felt really at home because I am a table top rpg fag.
>>340749610
How is Oblivion dull in comparison?
One quest I will never forget in my life is the first quest you get from the Mage's guild at the capital, in which what'shisface tells you fetch his ring in the well, then some other mage warns you that it's dangerous. You instantly expect monsters or something, but it turns out, as you dive inside the well, that the ring weighs like a full set of plate armor, and the body of the previous aspiring mage is right next to it.
That is a great twist and fun theming on top of it. On Morrowind, in Balmora the quest is a literal fetch quest, then swapping a soul gem that I haven't seen if anything comes from it, and then yet another fetch quest.
Granted, that's one example, but that is my experience with it.

As long as you are in Balmora. The Morrowind Mage's Guild is easily one of the worst questlines in the TES games I have played. The only interesting thing until you finish the questline is find a spy, and the others are just "go there kill x"
But to be honest, so are most of Morrowind's quests. It's in the DLCs that they shine

To be fair, we've had a LOT of really active Morrowind threads recently. I know I'm pretty much all out of things I want to really discuss. .
Could morrowind be legally played without buying it just by using replacers for literally everything?
Have enough replacers been made?
Is it even worth playing a mage? I wonder if I should go Atronach Sign because magic doesn't regen anyway
>>340761240
Without Atronach, I think it gets restored in your sleep
>>340761387
Well, it's not very encouraging for a mage to use magic in Morrowind. That's my problem, really. Especially because they fucking fail after casting.
>>340760846
Well let's discuss this. It never seems to get resolved.
Nord - Aryans
Breton - Celts
Redguard - sand niggers
Imperial - Romans
Altmer - nips
Bosmer - chinks
Dunmer - Jews
Orc - Mongols/Huns
Khajiit - gypsies
Argonian - niggers
>>340761667

And Argonians to be caribbeans.
>>340761667

Nord: Scandinavians
Breton: British
Redguard: niggers
Imperial: Roman
Bosmer: Either chinks or abos

khajiit: niggers
Argonian: OC do not steal
Nede: feather indians
>>340761240
>>340761554
Just get alchemy and you'll be fine. The 50% spell absorption alone makes Atronach the best birthsign in the game, even for non-mages.

When will Elder Scrolls have cities that actually have this many buildings? This version of Balmora isn't even particularly huge, but it's big enough to look like an actual town and it would not be at all outside of Bethesda's abilities to create. They'd just have to be less lazy.
>>340764739
That would be great if they'd do that. I was thinking precisely that when I posted it. The biggest Bethesda city in a TES game is probably, what .. Whiterun or Vivec? And they still aren't huge, or as big as they should be.

Is that one Telvanni mod worth using? The one that lets you build up your own wizard tower? Or is it just shit?
Does anyone else really like the smaller villages like Dagon Fel and shit?
I know this sounds silly and overused but:
Why they dont make as comfortable and mesmerizing games anymore?
I could sink into the game, discover something new everytime I replayed it. But the mechanics were solid too. No bullshit minmaxing like in Oblivion, no lack of real progress like with Skyrim, dice roll combat was actually pretty good too.
And next two games cant compare with swamp-ash climate.
So why? If Beth could get their shit together, if they would make basically Morrowind clone, it would be a blast. Magazines would prise them anyway, this time for "back to the roots" approach (not exactly, of course, since "back to the roots" would mean game more like Daggerfall, but whatever).
Instead they have "face" in form of some faggot that says that Morrowind was "xbox game", when it was just a port of PC version.
I just want open world sandbox RPG with mods and proper customization and the only series that could rival TES was Gothic (that went to shit with Arcania, later revivew by PB themselves in form of first Risen that went down to shit in 2 and mediocre in 3).But I couldnt play as cute Breton girl in Gothic/Risen, instead as ugly guy.
Why ;_;
>>340770864

Same goes for every other company that made a good game. No one who worked on that game works there anymore.

>>340771070
Todd Howard did.
>>340771070
Todd still works there. However he's Zenimax's bitch now. Even if he wants to make good games, he can't because zenimax has a firm grasp on what Bethesda does these days much the same as how Activision controls Blizzard. Has to make sales. Nothing good happens for the consumer when a publisher takes control of the developer.
>>340771356
No one who did anything good*
>>340771324
I would be so pissed if this happened but I'd play it.
>>340771070
But it doesnt have the be exactly the same team.
All is needed is a bunch of guys, who truly love the series, especially Daggerfall and Morrowind, to lead the project, especially in art direction, mixed with guys being familiar with balancing and adjusting actual gameplay mechanics, several programmers to make those ideas real, financial backup and lot of time.
Coders are coders, they dont make those ideas themselves, they only turn them into actual games. But they need director first.
>>340771467
There have been hints over the years that Bethesda wants to revisit Skyrim. I hope it's not true. I have no clue what it is about Skyrim. The terrain is more well thought out than Cyrodiil. There are both snowy regions and greener regions. It's mostly not flat like in Oblivion. It has less bad dungeons than Oblivion. However, something about Skyrim is just so unbelievably fucking frustrating. Idk what it is. I just feel so fucking uncomfortable playing in that region. Maybe it's the towns. The fact that they have like 4 residential houses. Or maybe there's just TOO much snow. Or maybe the terrain is mountainous but has even less substance than Oblivion somehow. I have no clue but I just fucking DESPISE skyrim, the province. Oblivion, as generic as it was, and as simple as it was, makes Cyrodiil seem 5x more pleasant than Skyrim.
Obviously Morrowind beats both somehow.
HLAALU GET OUT

>>340772250

>>340771467
Most likely not "Skyrim 2" but "remastered edition" for consoles. This would also fits Zenimax approach, as they want flow of money, while tons of casual players are willing to throw money at console version of game, that can be fixed for free with mods for same or better results. But in most cases, Skryim is only TES they played and they dont even think about playing this game on PC instead of on consoles.
There ARE rumors based on registering name "Redguard" lately, suggesting new TES at some point, placed in Hammerfell (it wouldnt be so bad, this region have pretty nice variety of terrain), but nobody can even guess what kind of castration would Beth introduce. They already got rid of skills at all in Fallout 4, they probably couldnt do the same in TES (after all, whole system is based on training skills, not experience points), but since they got rid of spell casting and attributes, they can do anything, really.
Bringing those back was simply frustrating, especially since it never really worked properly.
>>340772814
Awesome, much appreciated.
>>340772815
Probably because in 99.9% of games they're nothing but colorless snow and rocks, often bundled with anti-fun mechanics or settings like small empty towns lacking any depth. Idk.

Elsweyr would be extremely cool, as dense jungle, plus already having strong, cool theme - freedom fighters against Thalmor regime.
Knowing Beth, they would probably try to get rid of "walking cities", as it would be hard to keep them as separate cells (since they would make it for consoles, they would most likely keep cities as isolated cells).
Black Marsh would be even better, but kinda not fitting from lore perspective - basically any race other than Argonian would most likely not survive more than few days.

MCP, aka Morrowind Code Patch is "the" patch.

Just the unofficial fan patches, to be honest. Game works perfectly under Windows 7, no idea about 8.1 or 10. MW is one of those games that does not need any mods to be playable.

OpenMW is more light weight. It's literally the vanilla game and nothing else. It's a newer engine. Runs better on new computers. Crashes less. Has less bugs. Has some minor convenience features like how your games are saved, modern resolutions, audio options that aren't broken, etc.
Morrowind Code Patch is a bunch of bug fixes, with a bunch of extra features on top of it, all of which are optional. You probably won't know which ones are good and which ones are bad being a new player.

>>340776617
I would assume so, yes. It's a modern engine built for modern computers. I don't know how well it would work but I'd say you have a 90% better chance of getting the game to work on Windows 10 with OpenMW than without.

Mournhold is fun though. I don't get why everyone hates it.
Also I recommend that Tranwiz steampunk mod for AFTER bloodmoon because the things in that mod fuck you up on a whole new level and you need to basically be a god in Morrowind to go there, and then find out you're just a little man. Also it's a fun mod. Huge new city. I mean huge. Vivec is small compared to it.

You may not know this but vanilla morrowind has EVEN MORE bugs than that. Vanilla Morrowind is a gigantic fucking buggy mess. I'd take the handful of minor unnoticeably bugs in OpenMW + its huge advantages in general vs the enormous quantity of bugs including game breaking and crash-to-desktop bugs in vanilla morrowind any day.
Stop being a little bitch. Just install it and if you don't like it continue on vanilla morrowind and remove openmw. It's not like installing openmw deletes vanilla morrowind.
>>340777461
Just use MCP then. You might also consider using MGE XE, not for the graphic options but because it lets you easily play in widescreen and set your preferred FOV.
I really want get farther in this game, but I always loose intrest near the level 40 mark. I can stand it more than Oblivion, but I can't get motivated to level up and finish. This game was my pony, the thing I wanted as a kid and never got, and now I can't finish it. Any advice?
>>340777625
This. The amount of people in this thread scared of using / not wanting to use openmw is absurd. It was made as a less buggy, far more stable, modern way to play morrowind with better performance, multi-core capabiltiies, and some small graphical enhancements like bumpmapping and specular maps, but instead people are acting like it's bad.
I got tired of my vanilla game crashing every 10~30 minutes so I just switched over. It's practically 100% complete at this point.

I'm surprised no one has ever made a mod for Skyrim that expands dialogue, fixes questlines and dungeons, and makes reading important.
With all the autistic shit out there, and all the support for it from other mods like SkyUI, you'd think this would exist, at least in part.
>>340773467
>Shilling a 15 year old game
Top Kek.
>>340779449
It's because of the voice acting, I guess. It's a lot harder to make quests, dialogue or new areas in Skyrim because it's immediately obvious they're modded as soon as you encounter an NPC who doesn't say anything except the same generic lines.
>>340773467
>/v/ is turning into a fucking morrowind general
You mean it's turning into a good board? Awesome.
>>340779449
At least they made mod that brings back attributes.
Since even adding custom animations was hard, I guess that modifying dialogues could be more problematic.
Especially with voice lines.
Why the fuck can't I made constant effect items? I have an ascended sleeper soul here so wtf am I missing? It's been a long time.
>>340779878
In that case, I wouldn't mind a mod that just removes the voice acting for most lines or replaces it with a generic line, a la Fire Emblem Awakening/Fates.
For example if an NPC says something like "That dirty thief stole my laundry! I had it hanging outside to dry and he took it right off the line!" just have them play the "Wretched thief!" voice line. It's not a 1:1 match but still "fits".
This would probably work out pretty well since all NPCs in Skyrim have some shared lines that all genders/races can say.
>>340779449
what >>340779878
said. User made quests without voice acting feels jarring. Morrowind feels weird when I'm used to having voiced NPCs.
It's really sad that we can't have both a detailed journal and investigation system where you have to LEARN about the world you are in, and have voiced NPCs. But bethesda has made it clear who their target audience is and we will never have the attempt Oblivion made of marrying the two concepts.
>>340780178
Changing dialogue is WAY easier than custom animations. If you want to alter dialogue, you make an esp with your data and load it. For animations, you have to do any number of things like alter the skeleton, reload the behaviors, run FNIS every time... I don't think Bethesda ever really anticipated animation mods.

I wonder how long it would actually take to do something like this. If altering dialogue is as easy as it seems I might just try it myself.
>>340772250
your fallacy starts in assuming Oblivion is flat.
See, oblivion had mountains, like the Jeralls and the Valus. The thing is that you could ACTUALLY LEGITIMATELY CLIMB THEM. The mountains were slow gradients with winding paths and multiple ways up and down. Most of the "Mountains" in skyrim are just giant collections of meshes that you can't really climb and that don't really have anything useful about them. The few times you can climb them it's just a very linear carved path.
My main problem with Skyrim is that you simply can not get lost in it. In Oblivion you could wander around for a bit and get lost in the woods and stumble upon some cool shit. Same thing with the ashlands in Morrowind. In Skyrim, you're never too far from being able to see some visual landmark to help you figure out exactly where you are in the world, whether that be Solitude's arch, Whiterun, the Throat of the World, or the College. So exploration never feels exciting or dodgy. Plus, there aren't really any forests anymore. There are no expanses of vast untamable trees and wilderness, save some areas of Falkreath and the Rift. Even then, those areas are broken up by GIANT fucking bodies of water. So it just robs the game of all sense of excitement and exploration and fucking fun. That's the problem with Skyrim's environment. All they needed to do was make a bigger version of Solstheim, and instead they made big hallways between mountains which serve no purpose but to take up space.
>>340780538
My favorite skyrim mod will always be the one that disables fast travel and expands the carriage network.
That's all it took to dramatically improve the immersion for me. One simple change. Remove the temptation to skip content and improve the alternatives. Easy.

>>340780638
If you start by Fire Embleming the voice acting first, it'd probably be pretty easy to get other people to jump in and help with writing the new dialogue. But that might be easier said than done, I don't know shit about modding Skyrim.
>>340764739
I'd rather have small cities with like 50-60 inhabitants that are all unique than big cities with 500 that only 20 of them are desu
But it could have been possible in Morrowind but Beth were too lazy
>>340780676
>In Skyrim, you're never too far from being able to see some visual landmark to help you figure out exactly where you are in the world
This is probably because Skyrim's landmass is actually smaller in size than Oblivion's if memory serves.
Although to be fair, Skyrim has a much larger draw distance than the previous games. If Morrowind had a comparable draw distance, you'd be able to see Vivec's Ministry of Truth all the way from the dock at Seyda Neen. (I know this from using MGEXE) It's no wonder that huge landmarks like the Snow Throat are visible from far away.

Well, it definitely has some options that change enchanting. You might wanna double check and see what options you ticked.
Also best way to cheese CE enchants is to set your magnitude from 1 to whatever the max you can afford is, then just re-equip the item until you get something towards the max end of the range.
>>340770618
Definitely. Dagon Fel, Hla Oad, Gnaar Mok, Khuul, Seyda Neen and Pelagiad are very comfy.
>>340738484
It's the ability to manipulate reality. It happens because you realize you're imaginary, but manage to accept that without thinking yourself out of existence, which is called "zero-summing". Basically you realize everything else is imaginary too, so you can manipulate it.
Ever have a dream that turns into a lucid dream? It's like that. You can't control anything in a normal dream, you just go through the motions, even though at the time you don't realize it. But once you realize it's a dream, either you wake up (zero-sum) or you become "lucid", and gain control over the dream. That is what it is to achieve CHIM.

You have a point with the draw distance, but it actually is still a problem. Skyrim's landscape is simply packed with random shit, there's no actual wilderness in the wilderness. Everything is very close together. This problem is compounded when traveling on horseback. As for Morrowind, the only thing I can't seem to stop stumbling upon if I wander around are those ancestral tombs.
Honestly, all Skyrim needed was a larger landmass that was spread out a bit more, and some more diversity in the terrain. That's really it. But it was fucked from the start - Skyrim has always been not-scandinavia snowy vikingland. There's not a terrible lot you can do with that starting point to make it more diverse in terms of the environment. I think they gave it their best, seeing as they have that one swampy area and some places that don't have snow.

Fair point.

Do you want to be a vampire? Yes/No
>boots of blinding speed
>actually make you blind
>>340787341
Yeah.
>>340787393
I have several options available to me in Skyrim, though. SIC or SMM for example.
>>340786910
I've been doing that but the items I've been trying to enchant have really low limits to how much enchants can be placed on them
Is there any way to get around that?
>>340784359
Not only that but he's playing an Orc so all the magical stats are going start lower.
It took someone who understands the mechanics of the game to purposefully make it that bad.
Or someone incredibly retarded that doesn't understand the words on their screen during the character creation screen.
>>340787612
I don't get why there are a lot of people opposed to using openMW. It's literally a direct improvement on the game in pretty much every way except bad compatibility with MGE XE.
>>340787797
long ago i got shitload of mods from video game magazine, there was sword that changes me to a vampire or some shit
so yes, i want to be a dragun

Overhaul has the Morrowind Community Patch included which has some rebalance stuff that you can choose to use.
>>340784060
>install Morrowind Overhaul cause I'm really not feeling it
>comparing the before and after
God DAMN
>>340787976
Everyone is waiting for a v1.0 release.
It doesn't matter how buggy or broken the release is.
Once they have that magical "openMW v1.0" nametag, then there won't be that stigma attached to using it.
>>340788090
The overhaul is old as shit now, the game can actually look better but you have to do a full manual install.

Pillows. I stole every pillow I could find.
Then I built a pillow fort.

Vampire Embrace
Vampire Realism II
Vampiric Hunger
Make sure you grab the compatibility patches included. Vampire Realism II has the patches for VE and VH.
They are highly configurable vampire mods. You just have to run the configuration scripts. I think they should run by themselves when you first install them, but in case they don't, just look at the readme and it'll tell you like "open the console and type startscript VH_start" or whatever if you want to configure them.
You can do all sorts of stuff like change the leveling speed (the longer you play the older your vampire and you get passive and active skills added). You can make it so shrines or temples deal damage, you can totally remove sun damage if you want (if you do be sure to remove the visual effect), you can configure how NPCs react to you (you can set it so they don't automatically hate you and refuse to deal with you, because in reality how the fuck would they know you're a vampire), you can feed manually in combat, you can create cattle, or thrall to follow you, and even make NPCs into vampire followers if they like you / are your thrall/cattle, or by force after feeding in combat.
I think the mods required SCRIPTED SPELLS by Cortex as a dependency. Make sure you get that.

>you will never find a daedric bow to complete your daedric weapon collection
>>340788910
I've got a Daedric bow. No screenshot of it, but it's in there somewhere.
>>340789138
what mod is that anyway
>>340789138
>$FPS fps

What mod is what?
That treasure room? It's part of Tel Morganna. It's fucking huge, but the rest of the house is a whole city made of winding tunnels. It's a cool island though.
The other treasure room shots are inside Tel Magus, which is probably my favorite house mod.
The actual treasures are a combination of mods, including (but not limited to) The Neverhalls, Rise of House Telvanni, White Wolf of Lokken, and a ton of others I forget right now.
>>340787818
still used them if I knew that I just needed to go straight for some time.

More fun mods
>Antares Big Mod
Lets you boss around guildmates who are lower rank than you. You can send them on fetch quests, rank them up, kick them, reward them, etc.
>All the telvanni mods listed here
>>340773661
Fun telvanni experience. Really quite good.
>All the LGNPC mods
Pretty much mandatory. Makes TALKING to NPCs everywhere actually really fun. They all have unique dialogue trees
>LCV schedule markers
Makes NPCs change location based on time of day. For example a shopkeeper might lock up and go to the pub after 8pm. Make sure you disable that awful ringing sound when it asks you if you want to
>Graphical Herbalism
Gathering like Oblivion style
>At Home Alchemy
You can set down alchemy things and use them from there. Nice for decorating a house and not having to carry shit with you
>Children of Morrowind
If you want to adopt / see these pieces of shit, or even play as a child/teen character
There are more good ones for sure I just can't think of them right now
>>340789686
You can just navigate with the mini-map. The Never-everine is super good at keeping his bearings.
>>340780935
Pretty sure it has joystick support. I remember trying to play it with my flightstick years ago.

Google "morrowind antares mods" and go to his creatures mod.
There are some others, I remember one that adds some pretty cool looking bone and flesh golems,

Maybe he knew the tribunal were traitors from the start.

Telvanni has some really fun quests. Mages guild bored me to death though, I just went through with it for the services.
