I think it's the fact that he uses Materia Storm that throws people off their game.
That said
>One of the things that makes Emerald Weapon a dangerous opponent is its Aire Tam Storm attack ("Aire Tam" is "Materia" spelled backwards). The attack deals damage to each character equal to the amount of Materia equipped on them multiplied by 1,111. As such, having nine Materia or more equipped on a character means certain death. It is possible to manipulate the characters' Materia configuration as to get All Lucky 7s if a character only has two Materia equipped and 9999 HP when Aire Tam Storm hits.
Cool.

>Fight is now easy

That boss is super simple to beat if you aren't a fucking tard.

>Use tombstones and trees to protect you from his axe and shotgun
>Wail on him when his pattern gives you an opening, which is super easy on beast form

Truest "git gud" moment in the game is that fucking Blood starved beast in the chslice dungeons or the giant with the cannon and chains.

Gascoigne is a solid casual filter, though.

>a few low points like the flying serpent boss, the constant backtracking and the disappointing Vergil fights #2 and 3.
For what's widely accepted as the best game in the series I think DMC3 has pretty poor boss and enemy design a lot of times.
Doppelganger, Leviathan Heart, Gigapede, and Geryon are all pretty lame gimmicky bosses.

DMC4 is much better in this regard, just about every boss is actually very fun except the Giant Statue which is more the kind of gimmicky shit you find in DMC3.

Too bad DMC4 was shipped half finished.

This has an interesting reason as to why he was hard. Apparently in the demo for the game they gave you more skills and stuff to fight him, but in the actual game there's no real way for you to have those skills and they kept the boss the same so he pretty much ends up being a rape machine.

>The Heart
Are you kidding me? There is literally a competition with the high level dmc3 players as to how quickly can you kill The Heart, as it can be beaten using almost every possible weapon with various setups
Jester 1 is good if you can RG well, Doppleganger and Quicksilver horse are annoying and Gigapede is just 3 min of DT + Spiral spam, not even a boss when you know what you're doing

Oh man, I was 14 or so when DMC1 came out and I remember being so salty when this thing showed up.

But I kept trying and eventually just got the hang of everything. Shit was intense and fun as fuck

>spike attack misses
>land on its length
>slowly walk toward the phantom, shooting at it

I have not played an action game any other way since. Must be stylish at all times
>>
>>340004451
I'm not saying any of these are hard im just saying they are bad fights. I would bring up the part with fight 2 of vergil where you can just infinite loop him (at least on hard) with two swings of rebellion and roll to make him do teh teleport up and dive kick to repeat, but i wont call that bad.

>>
>>340003569

Not the same. Daigo v Justin Wong, that Evo moment, Daigo had to parry the just a super. And I say 'just' not to diminish what he did; what made that moment exciting was that he had no fucking health and could've gotten chipped out. His only alternative was to parry. The hardest part was likely the very first hit of Chun-Li's super; it's not -too- difficult to parry that shit.

What's difficult is doing all of that, with those factors involved, and keep your cool while doing it in the grand finals.
>>
>>340004670
I didn't think you meant hard, just saying that Heart is actually a kinda awesome fight since you can beat it via DTE from the grunts and organs, you can enemy jump the organs and heart so you can do some really cool aerial combos, you can RG the hearts lasers, use Artemis's acid rain for stupid damage or Nevan due to type weakness. The other two i agree with since they're are pure pattern bosses really, and Gigapede stops being a fight once you gain Spiral.
>>
Meme song, but still counts.Kinda...

Raining blood and One takes the cake through, shit gets you by surprise and solos are hard as fuck.

>>
>>340000162
You have something like 3-5 frames to perfect guard, at 60fps, and there are 3 different levels of guarding (perfect, imperfect, and basic), each blocking different amounts of damage/staggering the enemy.

The blocking in Bayonetta has looser timing, and instead of letting off the attack button to press a dedicated block (style) button, you move the other thumb to move toward the enemy during Attacks. MGR's system sort of combines the two, but it has a wider window during which you can parry.
>>
>>340014457
Also I should've mentioned that mashing the block button doesn't work, and you'll end up taking basic block damage (slightly reduced damage). You CAN mash the stick in bayo, but I'm not sure if mashing works in mgr.

To be fair, GH 3 is hard because overcharting and easy because huge ass timing window. Hence why some songs are harder on Hard than expert.

But they kept the Keyboard intro on guitar in every game, even rock band.
