Focusing on the other three things is what leads to walking-simulators. And the main problem with walking-simulators is they are not video games and simply try to piggy-back on video games' popularity.
Some components of video games may be art, but the thing that makes video games video games is not. People who push the video games = art point of view are trying to push video games into walking-simulators territory when they should just try to develop walking-simulators as a separate thing.
