I am having a problem deciding which game I should buy.
Should I buy Battleborn or Overwatch?
Happy to listen to your opinions,knowing there are probably 6 dozen threads like this.

I haven't played Battleborn but everyone I've talked to that's played Overwatch and Battleborn both like Overwatch a lot more.

League is a titan compared to Overwatch. They'lll embrace it just like HotS, play it for a week and go back to league because its just better.
I'm gonna come out and say it, regardless of what you think of the graphics, gameplay or writing in either games the lore in battleborn is just objectively better than overwatch. Overwatch is basically if disney made Watchmen and then forgot to actually make it good.
Battleborn has a really cool setting, it's just overshadowed by the shit writing and dialogue.

Personally I don't think Battleborn is worth the money, but my tastes don't really match up with the whole borderlands humor. If you like SMNC maybe you could get a couple months out of it before it disappears.

I got Overwatch because I played the Beta with old friends and we had a blast (we've been looking for a multiplayer game to all play).
If you're a skeptic I would wait, I think Blizz's biggest misstep was putting it behind a $40 paywall. If it falls flat on its face they'll make it F2P or do free weekends periodically.
I couldn't get into Battleborn even though I tried, I never got into league and it wasn't as satisfying to play as Overwatch.

Nobody has had good multiplayer games lately, PC or otherwise. The only big multiplayer shooters I can think of are Counter-Strike and whatever Call of Duty they're currently on, both of which are boring as fuck and have shit gameplay.

Battleborns problems stem completely from the fact that it costs $60+20, and it doesn't feel even half as polished as it should be to be worth that amount. Because of that matchmaking suffers, and there's a downward spiral of people who don't play in PVP, which is its main focus.

I don't really like Overwatch as much as I like Battleborn, because I spent a LOT of hours in TF2, which is what Overwatch is similar to.
And let me tell you - even though it's a fun game, the number one selling point is it's blizzard. Hell, I only bought it because everybody else is buying it. To me, it imitates TF2 while simultaneously missing everything that made TF2 great. The only upshot is that it's a far faster paced game, and hopefully they took these past two weeks and balanced it. (Although I doubt it.) Quite frankly, I would LOVE somebody to tell me what they see in Overwatch, because everything is a mess. It feels like they made a bunch of characters, and then put them into a game. It feels very incoherent.
However, it wins in the sense that it will probably have a lot of game modes. Which doesn't do too much, considering what carried TF2 so long I think were custom user servers, something Bliz would NEVER consider, but Battleborn kinda strokes in that department.
However, I think characters on average feel a FUCKLOAD more fun to play in Battleborn. Pretty much every character has a unique playstyle, and I like that. (Also more melee characters.) And it does the MOBA thing of leveling up your character, so it can drastically change how a character goes. Overwatch just kinda feels extremely limited.
All that being said though, if you are PCfag don't buy Battleborn until a few weeks or a month from now to see how the numbers are going to last. I really like the game, but it might be on life support in a month from now. And I'm hoping Gearbox addresses how grindy it feels.
ISIC best character out of any in the game though.
Honestly OP, from what i've seen everyone i know that played Overwatch on the open beta got completely addicted and i'm pretty sure will be playing for a while.
I played a lot of TF2 competitive when it was still strong and i'm looking forward to the competitive play of OW, it's a fast game and i think it has a lot of potential and a high skill ceiling.

I am not having a problem deciding which game I should buy, Battleborn or Overwatch. I will not buy either because lol FPS games. Got tired of those circa Duke Nukem 3D.
Buy both. Maybe not at the same time, but I think both are pretty good. I'm not sure what Battleborn's lifespan's going to be, so it might be good to start with that while its community is still active. I'm pretty confident Overwatch will always have a pretty large playerbase if Blizz's other games are anything to go by. Ideally though I'd say get both and just go back and forth however you feel.
I've only done the beta for both (Miko support mostly in BB and Junkrat/Reinhardt/Roadhog in Overwatch), but I plan on getting 'em after a few more paychecks come in.
