This is the reason I uninstalled that warhammer mod for Medieval 2 TW. The high elf expedition in the northern wastes is bullshit. The archers have the same range as siege weapons and fight better in melee than your heaviest infantry.

When you pick a race you choose who your faction leader will be, each one giving different bonuses to the faction, except for chaos each faction has two leaders to choose from (chaos gets 3). Other than that the faction you choose starts in the same location regardless of who your leader is. The mod splits the faction leaders into different start locations, so each player can choose a leader from the same faction.
Co-op works just like the campaign, with one player taking his turn, then the other player, etc (shit can get tiring quick if the other person doesn't know what he's doing or takes a long time). In battles against the ai you can either let your partner control the enemy army, or you can "gift" him part of your army to control, for example cavalry or artillery.

The only difference in tactics among the men who weren't mounted was the spears, we both know that. Alexander knew he could thin his lines in the middle in order to account for the breadth deficiency he had against Persia, but needed to overwhelm the wings. This was something that was literally employed since the very first battle with Persia two centuries back. We also both are agreeing that he used his extremely advanced (for its time) cavalry to cleverly destroy the infantrymen of Persia. But it wasn't static stupid shit, he didn't do heavy cavalry charges. They fired while riding, and did mass spear attacks before breaking off.

Rome 2 has DEI which actually adds features to the base game via scripting, mods that range from 1200 BC to the rise of constantine in terms of time periods, unit overhauls and battle overhauls, and the cancer that is radious.
