Single player is very good. Multiplayer is mediocre in my opinion. Wouldn't blame anyone for waiting for a price drop/sale as a result.
I'm actually interested to see what id does next. The idea of a new Quake in 2016 still scares me in spite of how much I liked DOOM though. But I would open my ass to Bethesda in a heartbeat if they could make a new Heretic/Hexen, Blood, or Turok (they'd have to get the rights of course)

Mediocre console shooter on a bad engine. Might've been a good base for mods without DRM that stops that happening.

GOTY for me family to be honest. Best single player campaign I've played in longer than I can remember. Multiplayer/snapmap are just good, feel like those two components could have used a lot of improvement

People are giving its MP too much shit for its faults. Overall its like Halo if Halo bangs 1/15th of Unreal Tournament. Its far above the average and fun as fuck. I just wish there was a way to turn off the numbers.
It's cool. Wish the multiplayer was better but the singleplayer is about as good as one can hope for from the modern game industry.

It's a good question and I honestly don't know how I'd answer. I suppose the extra mode, regardless of its quality, does add to the game's 'worth'
I got mine from G2A but I don't remember offhand the range of prices on key sites so GMG might be cheaper.

not him, but wolfenstein was singleplayer only, and while I don't remember how long the game was I think that doom would still be worth 60 dollars even without the multiplayer, although I would expect improvements in snapmap in that scenario.
Its good.
Its fast, smooth, looks great, has amazing gunplay, reminds me a bit of MGSR with glory kills, its not quite Doom but its a whole different flavor and I like it
But, its not 10/10 GOTY ALL YEARS like people on this fucking board say every good game is

Looks good, want to get it once I build a new computer later this year. Currently playing ultimate doom/doom 2 with smoothdoom and highres pk3s. Fucking amazing how great it is without the need of crazy mods like brutal doom and all that shit.

I would love that because I kind of hated the Strogg (aka Borg) angle as soon as it was introduced in Q2.
Enemies like the Shambler, fiend, and vore from the first game were terrifying when I was younger.
I just want another Quake game where you get to fight an old one, except this time maybe the boss fights can not suck.
Also the movement should be Quakeworld/CPMA and not strafe jumping Q2/3 style.

I've only played quake 2, 3a and 4. I rented 4 on the 360 and finished quake 2 while I had it. Only thing I remember is spending what seemed like hours getting the pyramid key.

Not a remake, fits within the doom1/2 lore, pretends doom 3 never happened, new weapons, new demons, interesting characters and story, verticality.
I think it's just the best posible doom we could get.
(agree on the blue shiedls tho, that shit just looks wrong, a large piece of scrap fused to the zombie's arm whould have been way better)
