So the best weapons are pretty much set in stone. Nothing beats the celestials thanks to their hidden damage multiplier.
But what's the best armor? Between Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect, Auto-Shell, Auto-Potion, Auto-Phoenix, Auto-Remedy, HP Limit Break, Ribbon, ect. There's too many good choices to pick from.

The FFX guide I had was great, but the one I had for FFX-2 was fucking terrible. It would off-handedly mention that you need to do something in Chapter 2 for 100% in the Chapter 5 section.

The original zanarkand existed a thousand years ago. It was a real place with real people at war with Bevelle. However, Bevelle was more technologically advanced and was going to win the war and destroy zanarkand, so the summoners at zanarkand turned everyone living there into faith, those faith created dream zanarkand and those summoners also created sin to defend dream zanarkand.
Dream zanarkand exists in the games current timeline still. Sin, as its defense system, destroys everything on the regular to keep the peoples of bevelle and greater spira from ever finding dream zanarkand. Tidus i s one of the aeons being summoned by the faith of zanarkand.
There is no time travel in FFX. The beginning sequence is jecht attacking dream zanarkand to bring tidus to spira in order to find a way to kill him so he can stop being sin.
Tidus is the least manly main character in the series.Vaan doesn't count. Basch is the main character in that game.

If you haven't played a FF game before maybe it's worth playing. It was pretty much the first FF to have a big focus on plot and characters.
As for which one you play it's up to you really. The SNES/GBA/PSP versions are the original game, with GBA and PSP later adding post game dungeons(that are kinda shitty) and allow you to change up your party members(but only once you've reached the final boss). The PSP version also has an epilogue which leads into the sequel I believe.
The DS version is overall harder and adds a new feature called Augments which basically let you add new abilities to characters. It also does away with party switching and has no post game stuff other than a superboss I think.
Honestly either version is fine but if you play the DS version don't waste your augments on characters that are going to leave the party and never return because a lot of the augments are useful as fuck and the final boss will rape you so fucking bad otherwise.

I've lost one game so far and that was my second with the al bhed phychs, 3rd game was against them too and I floored them after, used Datto to send the 20 catch keeper to sleep by shooting like crazy then sunk the goals in easily, Tidus couldn't get any past him with Jecht shot.
I abused the fuck out of Jecht shot on my first playthrough, its really a hindrance if you want the rest of your team to get better and learn the good tackle techs though.
I want to be able to play this game more, but it crashes on most scene changes and other moments and it's almost insufferable.
Right now im in the forest with that Ochu boss and I cant get anywhere without it freezing and/or crashing.

Because you're fighting Ifrit you can't summon your own Ifrit, so you can only use Valefor for this battle (quite a big drawback). Your opponent will use attack, Meteor Strike, attack, Meteor Strike in that order, then its overdrive Hellfire once that's full. The on-screen instructions will help you out as well — unless you're going to use Energy Ray, use Shield before Ifrit uses Meteor Strike on you. Don't use normal attacks or Sonic Wings on Ifrit, either, since Valefor's Blizzard will do more damage than either of them and Ifrit is immune to delay. Ultimately it will be no surprise if you don't win this battle — it's rather difficult considering you have no backup Aeons and Valefor isn't really that good anyway. The best way to approach this battle is to charge both Yuna's and Valefor's Overdrive to full and attack Ifrit from there, however, Valefor's Second Overdrive works better. You'll get something from it regardless of whether you win or not; a ring for Yuna which isn't especially useful anyway.
tl;dr Use Shield every time her Ifrit is about to use Meteor Strike, it's in the sub menu like how you change weapons/armor mid combat.

The videos shown (the ones they were reacting to) were one were the gameplay model of Tidus was being used (the one they put out when they didn't bother animating) and it looks pretty much the same as the original. They got these ugly fonts but didn't even make them smooth, and it's done nothing to fix the shitty UI decisions of the original like not being able to see what auto-abilities do outside of the help sub menu or the blitzball skill list being three columns long but you can't move left or right between columns, just up or down.

you don't really need kills, you can simply use kottos if you make sure to keep rikku's hp low. just use the delete spheres to remove any hp nodes she's been on, and her 360 base hp will be enough to get capped AP in about 3-5 hits.
