It's a good casual shooter. Fun fast and easy to have a quick load of fun.
Sadly, after farming the beta it felt a bit stale at the end, and there's not much content. (1 of the two game mode is boring)
It's a nice game to play with friends in a easy-play kind of way, it just shouldn't be taken too seriously.
I'll buy probably after release to see how they add contents.

Blizzard's pricing policy is taking the reasonable price and doubling it. Because they can.
Range on some weapons is sometimes confusing, generally due to the fundamental way melee is handled in first person games. It gets really chaotic when you're in a tight space with a bunch of characters of differing sizes and advantages. I don't know, the third person view points on some of the ults and skills makes me think this should have mostly been a third person game. Also I feel the characters are super clunky even with the fastest ones, FUCK walking all the way back to the objective.
There's some neat design ideas for some of the heroes. Mercy is unique for a healer class and surprisingly doesn't have some uber invincibility bullshit. Characters like Mei and Symetra w/e are pretty unique to play with.
Other than that I had fun with the beta but I don't think I'll buy the game and enjoy it for a long period of time.

It's obvious that they will always try to maximize their profit, but I've started wondering if it would just be better to make OW cheaper (like 20 bucks). This would be great for the game in the long run, because nothing but a strong community keeps a game alive.
Another greedy decision by Blizz is making the tick rate 20, which I also think is a terrible decision in the long run.

Honestly I think the tick rate thing is more them trying to make the game run on little timmy's $200 laptop than anything else, since lower tickrates do make things more potato friendly.

I think it's well designed. They are really playing to the current climate of online games where crazy shit will happen and people will record it and post it online. The abilities are tailored specifically to encourage crazy shit. Genji can reflect other player's ultimates and sniper shots, Roadhog can pull D.va's exploding suit, Reinhart can run people off of cliffs... the list goes on.

I agree, mcree is a good counter for many annoying heroes, especially Mei, Tracer, Reaper. If you are even remotely good at aiming (I am supreme in csgo) you can also easily take out targets in the distance as well.
Soldier 76 is also very versatile hero, imo. He has heal, grenade launcher, sprint, and his ult is good for taking out small/agile targets like tracer, widow, mcrree and alike.

You can use currency to buy specific things instead of waiting for them to show up from a loot crate. Sprays cost 25 each, skins are 75, 250 or 1000, and everything else is 250 I believe. They should really give you currency more often in the loot boxes or at least give you the ability to sell anything you don't want to keep.

I'm not him, but mathematically Lucio can be the best healer in many cases. Typically, teams group up, so Lucio is healing 3-5 people + himself. Technically, he can heal more than Mercy or Zen in group scenarios, which happen very often. Plus he can boost said healing and do damage. Yea, both snipers die easy and are not paying attention to you when you jump in. Healers (except Lucio) also have low HP and will die easy, and the team usually isn't paying attention to them when you jump from behind. Anyone who isn't a tank and gets caught by Winston usually dies. At least that's what happens when I play him.

Roadhog doesn't feel like a tank though, unlike zarya or reinhardt he doesn't have any protection skills, but he's very good at cheekily sticking out his snout and trying to get a free kill, the heal and HP helps him not instantly die from peeking around a corner
he's shit in prolonged heated combat though, because the reload on his gun is so frequent and long and he has to heal up and wait for his hook to cool down
also if the alt-fire detonates right in someones face it basically deals retarded damage so learning to aim it is a good idea, hook is much easier to land by comparison

Streetpig isn't really as much of a tank as Reindhardt or Zarya, he's more of an offense hero with a large health pool to offset the poor range his weapon has. Learn to hook people reliably, and use the hook, shoot, melee combo.
Also, as a Mercy player I fucking love avenueswine, he lacks armor so you can do more healing, he has his own heal if you're busy elsewhere and you can amplify his already high burst damage to insane levels.

Protecting the lowhanging backline fruits that Genji just shits on.
It's pretty fun. The abilities are fun to usethough some of them are undeniably bullshit, but the more I played the more I felt that the skill in using them, for most characters at least, is in their timing and placement, which I don't find very fun. Moreover, it feels like the abilities almost always trump any actual FPS skills like dodging/strafing/whatever, which is even more annoying because it lowers the skill ceiling
Also there's very little skill-based movement (rocket/grenade jumps etc) and a lot of automated shit in its place (Mercy's gliding to friendlies, widowmaker's grapple) which isn't a flaw per se but again drastically lowers the game's skill ceiling

The best thing that I can say about it is that it's the first major shooter I've ever played that plays equally well on both consoles and PC. Obviously the aiming is faster on PC, but it works fine on consoles and I wouldn't advise anyone not get it on X1 or PS4 if their only PC alternative is a toaster.
If this game was released 8 years ago, it would be perfect with the audiences of the time.
Problem is, this is 2016, and cancerous mindsets plague the AAA industry. If something doesn't provide instant gratification, it will be dropped by the masses. This is why a very small minority of AAA games have the overwhelming majority of the population playing on their servers.
In the case of games like Overwatch, nobody wants to play for good times anymore. Every9ne talked in abbreviations and quickspeak, constantly berating their team mates and being overly pessimistic. Everybody thinks they can be a pro now, everyone thinks they can somehow make money off of playing videogames, be that by streaming or training for tournaments. The audiences will constantly scream to buff and nerf everything. They will categorize the heroes into tiers and refrain from using 90% of the cast.
TL;DR It's a toxic time for multiplayer games. Overwatch is good, but given how the masses act today, the community is almost guaranteed to be horrible.

I love d vas weapon. Her gun is accurate fast and hits hard, she's a slower tracer with a better weapon. Her weakness can trick whole teams into chasing her off the point. You only need to survive a minute but dying just gives you your mech back quicker, she's pretty good as is but I will take a buff any day.

She's not really supposed to survive firefights Anon. That's the point.
When other people run out of health, they die. When you run out of health, you get a last ditch chance to survive and get back into the fight. The only time you're going to go out of your mech when you didn't run out of health is when you use the ult, and guess what that gives you your mech back anyway.
Be thankful her pistol is even as good as it is and that she isn't limited to something like a melee weapon.

I wish D.Va could be her own character as well. Her gun is surprisingly strong for someone who should be worthless without her mech and in regards to putting out damage I find that I do a whole lot more outside the mech since I don't have to corner super hard. Her mech damage is meager considering that you're slow as shit while firing, so building Ult takes a long ass time. If it wasn't for her shift I would be trying to get the hell out of the mech as quickly as possible every round.
