Look at the comments. Paradox fags BTFO and salty as fuck.
>>
I too am salty as a fuck.

I might get it if you can torrent the DLC like with their other games. Otherwise it's probably a pirate.

I'm more than happy to pay for the base game, not the millions of song packs that should at least be fucking included in the god damn weekly fucking expansions of content that should have been in the game from the start.

I don't think that's a fair review at all desu OP. The dude bitched more so about how he wasn't attacked by the AI but then was attacked by the AI and never really fixed his point.

The dude missed a lot of mentions about how the game is played out. Paradox games are generally solid 90% of the time. It's kind of like endless legend where the base game is a bit meh but the ultimate expansion based game will have loads more to it. Just give it time OP, development takes time :V

It's bad because there's a lot of holes in the review compared to the rest. He complains about alot of facts like bad diplomacy yet if you go watch the live stream that's going on right now there is a fuck load of diplomacy going on and each race has unique diplomatic modifiers to them.

IGN reviews are always flawed, no matter how you look at them, this one is just one of the worse out there.

I feel like making a GS game based on history/reality makes it easier to come up with enjoyable mechanics, scenarios, etc.

So I was already expecting Stellaris to be mediocre. But I'll see for myself when it releases.
>>
IGN also gave EUIV higher scores than EUIII, CK2 and HOI3, and didn't even bother reviewing Victoria 2. It's kinda clear they don't like the good ones.

Granted it's probably gonna be underwhelming shit since Paradox has really started to go downhill lately.

With historical games you have to put up with historical railroading as well as SJWs breathing down your neck at every turn. Why do you think Stellaris is the first game to get proper slave and genocide mechanics?

Literally the only game that was terrible at launch was HoI3, and that's because it was plagued with memory leaks and horrible bugs.
In fact I'd rather play vanilla CK2 and EU4 than the clusterfuck that some of it is now.

The criticisms sound completely believable to me knowing Paradox. The guy that made the review is a big Paradox fan if you go google his name and see him playing and talking about EU
I'm sure this game will be worth it when Paradox makes three expansions for it.

>>
>>337018769
That is partly the big reason why I like them so much. There's just something extra special and enjoyable about say, conquering Japan as Korea or seeing the US become a communist dictatorship, restoring the Roman or Byzantine empires in a time when they were gone, or even just following history and liberating Iberia from the Muslims. Games like CIV and even Total War don't really come close to that.

Granted I would just like more real time GS/4x games period. I've been spoiled by them and now the turn based games all feel a bit boring in comparison.
>>
>>337018909
Name at least 20 games that do have those elements.
>>
>>337019012
>In fact I'd rather play vanilla CK2 and EU4 than the clusterfuck that some of it is now.

Yeah, because Paradox only made those three games in their existence. CK2 and EU4 were the first games that weren't horrible buggy messes at launch like pretty much EVERY other Paradox-made game. I guess they realized they had QA at some point.

Why are you so hostile.

Does the thrill of anonymously attacking strangers over the internet get your chode to tickle? Perhaps you should consider paying your overdue bar tab. Oh wait im going to guess you dont leave that crusty old basement you call your home. Perhaps if you took one moment, one day, nay, one passing second to think about your situation in life you would realize that in the end nothing is worth while and that the most you can do to positively impact this world and all other worlds in the known universe is to finally, FINALLY, itch that scratch in the back of your mind. The thought you dare not acknowledge lest you finally man up the cojones, balls for your impoverished foolhardy ass, to FINALLY take that power cord, sticky and grimy with caked on layers of doritos crumbs, sweat, and semen. A frothy, disgusting mixture of bodily waste that so accurately sums up who and what you and your lifestyle represent: Absolute scum. Not one more second should pass where you continue to contribute to the enthropic heat death of known reality. Take that power cable. Take that disgusting mound of semen, rubber, and disgusting food particles. Take it. Take all 8 feet of it from the very wall in which its plugged to the half dismantled box that you use to type this message to me. Take it, and finally, FINALLY, itch that scratch. Tie it as tight as you can around your neck, make sure that one end is securely fastened to the ceiling, and take that final plunge. That final step off your bent and mangled chair, the unfortunate piece of plastic used to carry your morbidly obese welfare person. Take that final step. Take that final step into the halls of darness and obscurity. Do it. Kill yourself. For the good of all mankind.

And gives justified reasoning, the game sounds like it gets stale once the galaxy is colonized due to political shortcomings.

I'm just saying. There comes a point, where every year after adding more and more little finicky things you have to keep track off, it starts to become a bit of a bloated mess and it keeps you from enjoying the overarching game since you are so focused on what you have to do in this second.

It's not bad to have a game be a bit simpler, otherwise what would be the point in playing it over something like HOI3 or Vicky 2? A nice bag of chips between meals.

There are three tech categories in the game. Physics, society, and engineering.

So natural engineers, for example, gives +15% to that.

physics and engineering and 2 different types of research, social being the third, so one makes you good at one research and the other makes you good at the other research.

they are all pretty much the opposite of shallow. Maybe Vicky 2 is more complex I wouldn't know but thats like complaining that an 8.8 is far away from 8.9. Compared to most other games even in the same genre they are pretty complicated and thats why a lot of people enjoy them I think. How the fuck do underage memers make up this shit when the whole genre is pretty much void of them by default?

Almost as good as God Hand, i.e. almost a fucking masterpiece.

Remember that IGN has two sets of scores. One for "too big to fail" SKUs that literally has hundreds of millions dollars and thousands of people's jobs riding on their virtual backs and "journalism" is simply not an option in the industry, and actual video games written about as such.

They kinda are. I learned CK2 without ever player the tutorial in like an hour, "masted" the game in like 20-40 I think.

200 hours later and I still don't fully understand how to properly play V2.

CK2 is my favorite GS though, love the RPG aspects of it, hell in many ways it's pretty much the ultimate RPG, even more so than stuff like Baldur's Gate or Morrowind.
>>
>>337024152
I have that problem too. The industry (at least in media) has to many shills and anti-shills.
The only real way to get an objective review you trust is to play the game yourself.

Too many trait points available. You can repeat the bug as many times as you want and get unlimited trait points.

Does it have at least some content? Should I pirate to see what's up now or a year later?
>>
At least if I buy it legit I can play it on Linux.
>>
>>337026998
I'm wondering the same.
>>
>>337026998

It just shows how horribly out of touch with the rest of society he is.
He legitimately thinks a picture of him eating a taco salad will make beaners like him.
He doesn't understand that it makes him look stupid.
That's why it's so funny and spread so fast.

It may not be worth it if you don't have someone big backing you. But wouldn't you be able to sue the reviewers for blatantly misrepresenting your product?
>>
>>337027991
No i like Donald Trump and i voted for him but even i admit he's very out of touch.
Fuck Bernie Panders.
>>
>>337028075
I'll gladly take him over Shillery Clitoris
>>
>>337027606

Yep, doesn't know what he is doing. He literally got the entire nation to talk about him eating a taco bowl, but he doesn't know what he is doing.
>>
>>337028054
You can eat babies, sacrifice small animals to Satan and rape your mother in Starcraft 2.

These are all blatant lies, but it doesn't really give Blizzard any grounds to successfully sue me.
>>
>>337025174
lol
>>
>>337028054
Under UK Law you'd have a case. Reviews are protected under "Honest Opinion". If you allege the review is a dishonest representation of your product and they can't prove otherwise then depending on the extent of the damage you'd get a pay out.
