I never said it wasn't.
I said the whole game is going to pretend it's entirely divorced from the rest of the series, then LE EBIN TWIST is that it's ACTUALLY crucial to the story of the other two in some extremely obtuse way that doesn't actually progress the narrative, reveal anything of substance, or satisfy players.
It's the same shit as 2, basically: why tackle the story you've written when you can run away from it, rehash things from the previous game with a new cast, and then lazily shoehorn the core narrative back in with a few twists?

The first game I enjoyed heaps because despite its quirks it was still grounded into reality. Stuff like ghosts, time travel in the 3rd title apparently, despair disease sound really tacked on for the sake of suspense and what comes of it is just a world that doesn't know what it wants to be.

To be fair, you don't exactly know what or how that happened in the first game. It's not expanded upon until later. All you know is that the world outside is fucked up. Which would lend more to his argument that everything after the first game has gotten progressively more retarded.

Since they regressed into younger selfes in DG2, its probably that Souda dream rocketcar was the one used to kill Kirigiri's dad.
As for the butter one, i have no fucking clue, fat free remains such as bones, some skin and muscle should have been behind, perhaps everything that was once Mondo melted into a butter pot, and the rest turned into dust.
By that you just have to pretend Monokuma didn actually ate the Mondo butter, because that was the remains of liquified Mondo.

I really can't agree. Danganronpa 1 has barely any unexpected twists, the setting gets very dull, and most of the cast, ESPECIALLY the cast that survives until the end, is absolutely insufferable and completely unlikable. DR2 fixes all of those problems.

i feel like dungeongremlins never gets the credit it deserves. it's an iteration on a formula (phoenix wright) but it made huge strides, and was incredibly creative IMO. no game exists like it, and better yet it has yet to be replicated. word-based puzzle combat is one of the great game ideas of the last few years.

I think what drags it down was that most of the surviving cast had some pretty bad voices, while only Aoi, Hagakure, and Toko were just alright. Makoto, Kyoko, and Togami were all pretty bland and they are the most important trial characters. Others like Celes, Ishimaru, Mondo, and surprisingly Hifumi were pretty good, but they aren't around for very long.

There IS an implication that Monokuma and Jack could be bullshitting. They even say they don't know what to really expect when they open the door and all you see is a weird light effect that implies something weird is going on. But DR2 boringly confirms that the world did get fucked up.
I think Kodaka wasn't sure where to take the series after DR1 so left it inconclusive in the original script.
