If you work lopsidedly then flipping is helpful to correct things but remember that if you don't fix the problem in your working methods then it'll just be lopsided to the other direction when you fix it back if you continue to work on it for long time while flipped.
Flip it back and forth more often and try to figure out what you're doing wrong in the first place.

Not the guy who promised to shower you with encouragement, but it looks like you're using vectors or a heavy stabilizer for your lines. Try drawing them out instead.
Some artists tend to over-value clean linework because it looks nice and professional, but clean lines don't mean much if they don't accurately display the form of the object. It's valuing the finishing touches of a drawing before the fundamentals.
Don't be afraid to use some depth in your drawings; in that drawing Link, all of his limbs, and his hammer are roughly along the same horizontal plane. Dynamic poses involve different body parts going backwards and forwards in space, not just left to right.

The longer you stare at something, the more you get used to the mistakes. They don't stick out like they would if you were looking at it with a fresh view of things. Flipping the canvas is used to give you a fresh view, and often it makes a lot of issues with your drawing suddenly stand out.
