Is this game any good?
It's above average, but play stuff like Shovel Knight and Super Meat Boy first
It's a great Metroidvania. It's short, sweet, and does a great job of giving Shantae a completely new moveset as compared to the previous games. It was my favorite game of 2014. It's the only game in a long time that I didn't mind the character's dialog.

Still can't believe people legitimately enjoyed that mess of a game. Rising did far more damage to its fanbase than DmC did. DmC is going to be forgotten in time whereas Rising has cemented the future of Metal Gear.

Yeah, this game has pretty graphics and fluid animation..
now consider the fact he is just cutting every guy in half with one swing and moving onto the next, it as well be cinematic. Gameplay is literally mash X and you cut a guy in half, they don't tank anything. Kojima himself said they couldn't into gameplay and struggled with this. Platinum saved the game
but you can go on and repost this over and over, as I've seen it a million times.

You have ten seconds to explain why the Heug didn't win the sixth gen.
Despite its shortcomings, DaS2 is still great to play and you can easily sink hundreds of hours and beat it multiple times.
It's a weak Souls game, but it's still a good game.It's my GOTY 2014

I know I'm late as fuck but I just recently acquired a ps3 and finished this.
Holy shit, this game was a fucking masterpiece from start to finish. It did almost everything right, I liked it more than MGS3 and that fucking ending made me tear up a bit, even though I already knew the spoilers.
Can we have an MGS thread? all game discussion welcome, but I'd prefer to keep rising to its own thread if possible only because it's so radically different.
