Final verdict of this game /v/?
In it's current state with out any DLC or mods. Is it better than FO 3? Yes. Is it better than than NV? It some areas yes, in others no.
It is pretty much a straight upgrade over 3, I can not think of a single thing in 3 that I like more than this game that NV doesn't already have on 4. I guess it would be funny to convince father to kill himself saying he should have been aborted though. Anyways this is what 4 does right over NV.
Better gunplay, there is no question this is the most polished. It feels far and away more precise to hit things in the game.
Better looking, don't even pretend FO4 doesn't look better than 3 or NV. Even if it doesn't have great fidelity like the witcher 3, it certainly looks better and is a whole lot more detailed (i'd love to see them try to do something like the institute in FO3's engine)
Crafting, Do I really need to go into this one?
Companions, it feels more varied than NV and this time each character feels fleshed out
Power armor, instead of a bulk article of clothing, you actually feel like a walking tank
However FO NV beats 4 in the following areas
World design, story, choices, and dialog are all beaten by NV. Being a desert ranger just feels infinitely cooler than boston's minutemen. You have far more choices of how you want to take the story than 3 major factions and 1 back up. The dialog is shit 4 and I don't care for the voiced protagonist.
Oh one more thing. MELEE combat. Both unarmed and melee combat just feels weak in this game. I know there isn't a lot of feed back to it, but it is so annoying to be staggered every second when you are trying to hit someone. Yes I know block, but this game isn't dark souls so stop trying to be it.
