Depends why you were playing it. The dialogue and factions were better than NV, and better developed. The gunplay was a distinct improvement, and the storyline was leaps and bounds ahead of FO3. About on par with NV, though that didn't feel...fantastic enough.
The settlement building isn't great though. I get the feeling there's a hearthfire on the horizon...

Its a port, not a remake, its an old gen game and not even a particularly pretty one either.
Now we can actually SEE how ugly it is, hence the disappointment, the resolution fuzz and 20fps was hiding a lot.
