Did we finally get a decent new SaGa game?
it's really boring after a while
Play the demo. It's a pretty good representation of the game. It takes about 2 - 3 hours to beat and if you like it enough, you can carry over your save data. The game in general is between 15 - 30 hours per character depending on what you do, and the entire thing is governed by RNG.
That being said, the general consensus, like all SaGa like games is that you'll either love it or loathe it.

Alright, /v/, I've been offered a position as assistant manager at a Gamestop...and I'm not entirely sure I want to take it. I'll make more money than I make at my current job, but having to deal with dudebros who don't know about shit but Call of Duty as well as the basement dwellers who only crawl out of their caves to get more games and restock their Doritos and mountain dew supplies sounds torturous. Anyone ever worked at GS and have experiences to share/encouragement/discouragement?

Hello, people of the /v/. I've been on this big Fire Emblem kick lately, and I've replayed everything from FE6 to FE13. However, Ive never played anything pre-FE6, and I wanted to get started on FE4 because I've heard nothing but praise about the game.
After trying to understand and figure it out for a while, I just can't seem to get how the combat works. I like the fact that the post-FE5 games give you the details without having to calculate stuff, but going back without those is completely game-changing to me.
My question is, how the hell do you calculate how much damage you deal/receive, if you/the enemy will hit twice and the accuracy of a hit?

You're gonna have to do some really basic math in order to play FE4 and 5. If you can't do that then you're fucked anyway since those games are more difficult than what you've played so far.

What would your thoughts be on a game where you began as a bacteria, feeding off other smaller and weaker bacteria and after a period of time you evolved into a higher form or a new species. This process of evolution would reoccur as you play through the lives of various creatures and species on your path towards where humanity is today, playing through the major events in the worlds history. Then, you would progress past where humanity is today as our understandings of the universe, physics, etc allow us advance and explore other planets, solar systems, and galaxies.
Stoned and mesmerized by this idea of a game where your actions as a tribesman could impact the future and the outcome of the game.

As expected of an ATB apologist, implicitly putting RTS and turn based games with grids on the same level as ATB systems and acting as if they deserve anything like the same prestige.
ATB a blunder that has produced not a single actually good game in the history of its existence and is innately inferior to both properly turn based and fully real time systems, with the downsides of both and the benefits of neither. The only people who find them enjoyable are mouth breathing idiots who don't want any distractions or tests of skill as they grind for abilities.
