Why is this game hated so much?
>Great graphics for its time (possibly best looking PSX game on release)
>great music
>anatomically correct characters
>great plot with a lot of direct and indirect stuff going on
>great setting
>probably greatest character development in video games
>actually nailed the love story right
>enough fun side activities

Only issue I have with it is that characters are absolute shit without linked GFs and that swapping a GF would require you to heal your character because he wouldn't be at his max stats.

I have two questions for you!
In a week I'm going to play Dark Souls for the first time (essentially). I know I'll like it because I've played the tutorial segment and watched my friend play Demon's Souls. Should I stream it? What kind of build (please be vague so I have room to fuck up) is good for someone just starting and not planning to use a guide at all for any missables?

Stream it for fun. Why not? As for starting builds, you wont know how you want to play until you get in there, find a weapon you like, and determine your scaling based upon it.

Setups and Okizeme
Do these after a knockdown, usually from 2D or Elk Hunt. All of these should be done at a safe calculated distance, especially vs Sol as Volcanic Viper is bullshit.
Run up 2K. Self explanatory. 2K is a fast low, time it for a "meaty" or a move that is timed on your opponents wake up. From there go with whatever chain route.
3K - as mentioned, baits reversals hard as the hitbox is disjointed. On closer counterhit causes stagger in which you do (in a considerably close distance) 6H>Hawk Baker (clean hit) > Bull bash > leap P > j.6H > c.S> 5H (1st hit)> 6H >j.K>j.S>j.6H> Beak driver for their inability to stop pressing buttons
Voltaic Deign - THE setup tool for Sin. They will be forced to block this unless they do an invincible move. You can either do a run up low, or my personal favorite, run up 2K> 5D to do a dust combo.
2H - 2H is a weird beast. It hits 3x and all hits are jump cancellable. It also cancels to 2D. So when they're forced to eat this you can either do a 2D at anytime or you can j.D for an instant overhead into j.D combo route or Voltaic Deign
These are enough tools for a beginner to work with. These are not everything but they should give you an idea of how he plays. Sin is simple to start but hard when fighting opponents with complete scummy moves like zato or millia. His simplicity is actually a burden in a long run since you'll have to be creative with your setups.
For newbies who keep asking "I don't know what to do". Watch below.

Prototype imo.
Could do way more with your powers, the game embraced how stupid it was with camp (popped collars, grimdank protag, etc), and I remember a lot of stuff in it blowing my mind on release. Infamous just didn't really blow my mind the way Prototype did. Didn't feel as fun/whacky/crazy.

So /v/, let me tell you a tale of toils and woe. I'm a hardcore Smasher who's been playing Smash Four since it came out. I've been playing it for hours each day. It's all I do. I keep going up against these FUCKIN Little Mac players named "BWALLZ" and "4EVER", BWALLZ wearing the wire frame skin that's wearing the green hoodie and 4EVER wearing the standard Little Mac skin. All they do is spam their side-B, Haymaker. It's devastating. My bros tell me that they keep going against these fuckers on the battlefield too. Have you guys encountered these two before?
