Hell no, those consoles had WAY better libraries. Even the PS4 at this point has a better library than the N64 which is mostly criminally clunky games that are only liked because of nostalgia like Goldeneye and DK64. PS1's library has also aged miles better, particularly with games like Xenogears and Symphony of the Night.

The gameplay is equal parts Bayonetta 1 and WET and the world/game loop is designed like Saints Row.

I was really mad at DS3 being just another shooter, after enjoying good mix in second game and nice horror in the original. I was really positively suprised about them expanding the universe in the third game and adding more to the necromorphs, especially in the dlc.
I think it's a solid series if you like survival horrors with decent plot and intrigue (here: origin and goal of necromorphs to become Brethren Moon).
If you still didn't play it, don't watch any DS3 related videos if possible.
