Who got it right, /v/? RO? Dead Space
I just spent the last hour watching every ISIS video I could find and found a lot of things left out of videogames. The gelatinous movement of a skull undergoing shock. Videogame models treat the skull as a hard object that only fragments, it never flexes. Blood viscosity. Blood is treated like water when it has its own method of motion, lots of bubbling (never seen a game with bubbling). Seizures, games never feature these unless a physics engine freaks out. Persons never tense and jitter naturally. Throat kills are always silent in games when in actuality its extremely loud and much more stealthy to stab one in the lungs. Faces never panic when dying. Heart and head shots are always instant when in reality its never a 100% guaranteed quick death.
What game got it right?

Not yet, but soon I suspect. Once I meet the Acid Dogs most likely. Although I definitely already did have some trouble taking on Lunatics.
Also, this game cured me out of my OCD.

I'm trying to play as a sneaky jack of all trades with melee and psychokinesis as offensive skills.
Level 4 so far, have to cheese a lot with force field to seperate packs of mutants and finishing them off one by one.
This will be pretty brutal, I can feel it.

I just finished all of Baldur's Gate and now I'm left with an empty feeling that I know I will never play an RPG series as great as BG ever again.

plenty of items that need you to play for 500+ hours even if you know how to get them -- restarting your FF12 playthrough doesn't seem so bad compared
if you never used a guide, you wouldn't even know the spear existed and not care anyway -- most people will either know about it early or never know
also zodiac spear was only bullshit in the original version of the game

So I came up with a shitty nuzlocke challenge for Pokemon.
The Champion's Nuzlocke
Rules:
-Only Pokemon that are in their basic stage of evolution or can't evolve (with the exception of Legendary or Mythical Pokemon) can be captured. (E.G a Pokemon like Electabuzz can be used in Generation 1 games, but not in anything after Generation 2, due to Elekid's existence. Note that you can still evolve them.)
-Everything is randomized. This includes evolutions, Pokemon you find, etc, etc...
-Can't use Pokemon Centers.
-If a Pokemon faints, it must be released or put into a graveyard PC Box.
-Can only capture the first Pokemon in each area. However, if the first Pokemon is not a Pokemon that is in it's stage one evolution, you can keep trying until you encounter one.
-You can only carry ten of each healing item at a time. (E.G 10 potions, 10, full restores, etc, etc)
-Shiny clause is not in effect. However, shiny first stage Pokemon can still be captured.
-You can only grind to the highest level of the last Pokemon of the next gym you need to face*. (For instance, if you were to this challenge in Leaf Green, and your next Gym was Misty, you could only grind up to level 21, which is Starmie's level.)
*If you accidentally overlevel (yes, this is possible) you can still use the Pokemon, but you can't use it until the others have fainted in battle.
-Pokemon must be nicknamed.
-Set battles only. (Meaning the game doesn't ask you if you want to switch to another Pokemon after you've defeated one. This can be changed in the options.)
-You can't switch in battle.
-If your randomized starters are all either their first or higher stage of evolution or a legendary, you can keep it in your party until you capture a basic Pokemon.
-METRONOME IS THE ONLY USABLE MOVE.
For an extra challenge, you can only use three Pokemon.

I wish more games openly let you mix in your own music with their soundtrack.
i just bought it, 50 minutes of game time, i can fairly say its a "go there, do this, come back" game, sometimes there is a distress call but until you have a really good ship you should just ignore. but wait more opinions im actually interested too

Getting a really good ship is a trap. Get the best upgrades/turrets/broadsides you can get before changing ships. Difficulty goes up dramatically with bigger ships, but your firepower and defense don't also do so necessarily.
