What happened?
At this stage I'm pretty confident nothing Yoshi could add (in a single patch) could save this game from imploding.
Keeping the older players interested would mandate major overhauls; including but not limited to a complete rethink of encounter design, gear itemisation and spiritbonding/the materia system, dungeon structure and replayability, class structure (with regards to cross-class abilities, the addition of talent trees and retirement of the trinity system) and most of all the immediate cessation of support for the PS3. Some of this might be polarising but the game is unquestionably dying due to their inability to support the expectations of a subscription-model MMO with a skeleton crew of a dozen developers.

It'd be shit because Souls-type combat is nowhere near suited for Jedis and lightsabers. Force powers would be god awful reskins of spells from previous Souls games, and there'd probably be plentiful amounts of lore rape and retardation.
