Hello /v/, within the past week I downloaded this game. I figured out how to implement downloaded characters and stages into the game.
My question is if anyone on here knows how to truly customize a character beyond just sprite swapping, any knowledge would be appreciated. I'd like to be able to make my own characters for people to use in time.
First youunderstand what a finite state machine is and realize that MUGEN did not invent this and it was actually first patented by IBM decades ago
Then youunderstand basic physics applications of calculus concepts such as position and its derivatives (velocity and its derivative acceleration)
Voila you understand how to make stuff in MUGEN
Also MUGEN itself is not a game, it's an engine
Is mugen finally playable online with custom chars and maps?
So Exist Archive is out in japan, it's a spiritual successor to Valkyrie Profile made by the same team that made the original Valkyrie Profile.
Anyone import it here? Anyone waiting for the western release?

Did I screw up? Do you only have a certain amount of tries to get the item before statues attack you? Was there something I missed and shouldn't have broken the original one?

those statues are other players. With DS games, all players are playing on their own "server" or world and can only interact with each other when summoned or invading.
Occasionally you'll see ghosts of people around bonfires right? Those are other players in their world that happen to be in the same areas as you.
Those statues? That's what happens if you stand in the clouds/mist those googley eyed fucks spit at you. You become a petrified statue and you become cursed. Your HP is permanently reduced by a fraction.

Can anyone give me some gearing tips and tips in general? Like what stats are the most important?
I've read the manual and still am confused about some things. I'm on chapter 5, trying to level up and gear up to kill that thing.
is there a pic of optimal probe placement? I want t o start making a decent amount of revenue.
Anyone else playing this on a monitor? I got it a couple of days ago, but the fucking sound just won't come out completely from the earbuds I connected to the gamepad. Am I doomed if I don't have a TV?

You need to balance exploring and story. You should be fine as prime placement is more end game. By chapter 6 I had 8k though. For gear just see what increases your attack and defense. Once you understand the game more youll know what you want. You STILL need to unlock two features by progressing the story.

Okay guys, I don't know which one should I buy between Guilty Gear Xrd and Blazblue Continuum Shift.
I like Blazblue without being really good at it. Is Guilty Gear any better ? How about the roster ? The online games etc ?

Definitely Xrd. There's actually a fair number of players for Xrd on PC right now because it's a recent release. Most people who play BlazBlue are playing Chronophantasm and they're playing it on consoles. The only reason to get Continuum Shift at this point if is you enjoy the story, but if you want something to play with others, go with Guilty Gear.

That's not true at all. GG has the highest learning curve for 2D fighting games, but it will be the most rewarding if you are able to get through your first 100 hours of practice and basics.
