I have a PS360+ PCB, but my fightstick I have needs hardcore modding to get it to work, so I'm going to have to buy a second stick thats easily moddable.

>MGSV had barely any story but still managed to fuck up the main plot of the series. the gameplay falls flat for a stealth game, you have all these items yet it's not even worth using them as you can storm in guns blazing. But boy is the Fox Engine amazing
>Undertale graphics are obviously not it's greatest aspect. the gameplay is pretty unique but at the end of the day it's just bullet hell minigames and make sure you don't kill your enemy in the final hit. The fans praise it mostly for it's storyline, characters and writing

This is fucking absurd. I loved Bloodborne and the Witcher as much as the next guy but Monster Hunter IV blows both of them out of the fucking water as an ARPG with immensely varied and satisfying combat paired with hundreds of hours of content.
The fact that games as shallow as Rocket League (still like it though) or MGSV (utter shit) are taking the #1 spot over it anywhere is a joke.
Has ANY site actually recognized the true GOTY yet?

Dark Souls is one of the only games that I know of where it's easy and fun to greatly change how your character plays. Nothing is bound to a starting class, almost all equipment is viable in the PvE, and even when you've made your character with one thing in mind you can put on a change of clothes and how you play the character changes a lot. I still play it because of how wild and varied the characters I can make are. I still play it because I was able to beat the game with over 100% equipment burden, slowing me down to a walk and disabling my ability to roll at the benefit of throwing caution to the wind when it came to my how heavy I was being and the unique drawback of not having a lot of stamina to work with. I still play the game because the weapons feel different in more ways than just attack rate and speed. I still play it because there were thousands of people coming up with new things and I dredge through the standardized havelmom and giantdad builds to meet the people who come up with their own things.
What other games would you recommend me to get me away from fanboying the shit out of this game?
The Witcher 3 has a great class build system. The leveling up is slow, but you get to "choose" between on potions/bombs/oils, melee or magic. And you usually have to be very smart about using them in the average fight.
Tactics Ogre on PSP is also very flexible about its classes, although you could do fine with Final Fantasy Tactics too.

While TeS games are good lazy games to play when I want to be comfy, they have problems which keep me from being spergy about them.
Specifically
>weapons hardly separate from each other by stats and appearance, be it a warhammer to a greatsword or a dagger to a maxe
>armor doesn't feel like it makes much of a difference unless it's lategame gear
>early game gear is rendered obsolete by lategame gear
>hard to support some characters' combat style (i.e. god help you if you wanted to do explosives only in fallout)
