So I'm extremely new to disgaea and this is my first time playing it. I'm on the mid boss fight in vyers castle and I am getting destroyed. I've tried making characters, but they get one shot most of the time and I have not found a good place to grind yet, unless I'm just doing it wrong.
Any disgaea tips for a brand new player?and yes, I'm trying to git gud, so fuck off
Find a level 1 item, like some ABC gum or something and go through a few floors through it. Your named characters should be able to carry it at this point.
Abuse geopanels in item world, too. If you get some free bonus from floor completion, be sure to bring out everyone you can before finishing the stage so they get free exp.

Yeah, anything. It'll tell you what level the item is, and that's where enemies levels start when you enter. If I remember correctly, it's been several years since I've played D1, enemies in a level 1 item will scale to around 7-8 at floor 10.
In the beginning it's really just a place for easy grinding. Basically, it's a randomly generated bunch of dungeon maps usually with geopanels. Every 10 floors you can leave, or you can use a Mr. Gency's Exit to leave early, you'll start on the floor you leave if you come back.

But seriously, seems like you can actually do something salvageable from modeling in Dreams and export the models to PC to create skeletons, make retopology and use them in games or 3D print them
Seems like casual Zbrush but with similar end results (hard surfaces like Mechs can be made)
Not only is this the ultimate MarioMaker/LBP type of game but it could also have some usefulness for 3D artists or even 2D artists

In the UK/USA version, the ghosts speak in distorted broken English rather than direct text-to-speech English like in the Japanese version.
