How do people exactly discover secrets in Dark Souls?
I'm not talking about discovering which chest is a mimic or illusory walls, mind you.
How did they, for example, discover that in order to join the Warriors of Sunlight covenant you had to have a certain amount of faith? Or even better, that the requirement for the amount of faith points decreased with every boss you helped someone defeat?

All that work and progress you make with your character can just disappear like that. Even with Blizzard's retail servers, they'll go offline someday.
But my Skyrim character save file will always be around even though I haven't played in years.
But my very first Minecraft world is still backed up even though I haven't played in years.
I even have old saves from my SimCIty 2000 days in archives.
I can at least load up my old vidyas and see the work that I put in there, like a time capsule. But with MMORPGs, you only have memories.

You mean enjoyment
If at any moment you are spending your time on getting something other than enjoyment out of a game, then you are literally just wasting time. It may be that after a certain about of wasted time you will get to content that makes it more enjoyable, and thats a risk you sometimes have to take, but dont pretend that just because something you did is now non existent that you didnt get anything out of it.
I enjoyed my time on Nost. Yes my account is gone, but my time was well spent on the fun I had with it.

Space sims and mid 2000s FPS games, that's about it outside of occasional RPGs like Space Siege
Ratchet and Clank games are very sci-fi, but they might not be the same as what you're looking for.

Is it worth getting into?
if you find fun on the good class system and don't mind some grind, it's fun.

It has some great classes, and fantastic potential for parties using their abilities together.
But the total lack of actual chances to group up with others (or reason to) totally ruins the game.
Number 1 issue is that nothing is challenging at all. You can literally solo all content as any class with any build. Totally ruins the entire point of making the game an MMO in the first place if you ask me.

He faked his death on Venom so he didn't have to pay off that 80-year loan on the Great Fox.
He has to be, otherwise how could the Aparoid have known what an adult James would look like?
And StarFox Zero deals with dimensional transporters as a big subplot, confirmed by Miyamoto, and deal with the relationships between the characters,
My guess is that something is going to make Fox wonder about the circumstances of his father's death, at which point he will ask Peppy what really happened, and he will tell you the truth.
But ONLY if you take the transporter route. Otherwise it would undermine the ending of the game for the hard route.
