What games let me play as dark characters?
And I don't mean "evil" dark or "edgy" dark but REAL dark.
Darkness 2
>>334667349
Dark as in black?

Eyo dudes, moving into my own place soon and won't have internet until I can afford it/get it set up, looking to compile some Single player/offline games to tie me over until then.
Nostalgia/Emulator thread I guess, PC games welcome
>Hardmode:Games with more than 8 hours of ACTUAL gameplay
>>334667259
Mass effect trilogy is entertaining enough for a full playthrough if you've never played it before.
Elder scrolls games modded are nice.
Grim dawn if you don't mind solo diablo games.
The Space simulator games like the X series.
https://www.humblebundle.com/glens-staff-picks-games
Grab this for 12 for some money efficiency and variety.
Most importantly: 4X games are the most godly when it comes to how much time it can waste. Its just rare for someone to actually like them. I'd start with the newest Civilization game if you're new to the genre.
Only rivaled by autist games like minecraft, that shit can get ridiculous if you let your autism take over.
>>334667259
Dark Chronicle is shit tier.
Dark Cloud 2 is better in every way.
6, 7, and 8 will probably last you like 150 hours
Has a video game ever caused you to have physical pain?

Mario Party

trying to speed run Metal Slug 3 for months has fucked up my right thumb. I did so much button mashing that I can no longer straighten it out.
I get elbow pains sometimes from the way I sit at my computer. Tennis elbow I think it's called?
Not inherently bad pain, more annoying.

Which is a poorer use of money: buying video games from an industry that you think has lost all interest in your preferences as a consumer or giving to charity?
>Reducing an absolutely massive number of companies, corporations and individuals, all with unique motivations, aspirations, and raison d'etre, down to "an industry" to justify your actions
Yeah okay buddy.
>>334667018
depends on the charity
>>334667018
Charities. They're all corrupt middlemen anyways.
Greetings /v/ and smash fans
I'm extremely autistic so so I hosted a "Let's find out who the best AI is in Super Smash Bros is" tournament.
Here were the rules I used:
- Matches were 1v1
- Stock Match with 5 stock each
- Stage was be selected at random
- ALL stages were included in the random
- ALL characters participated (even the unlockable ones)
- ALL AI were set to lvl 9 (highest)
- ALL items were available (default settings)
- Damage was set to default
- Bracket was double elimination
- Bracket seeds were randomised for the first bracket and performance based thereafter
10 double elimination tournaments were held and I've got all the results here ready to share with you but I wanna get some ideas on which ones characters you think did well and which ones sucked.
I'll reveal rankings one at a time from the worst to the best. The "worst" character was the character with the highest average finishing position over all of the brackets.
There were some characters than never versed each other (such is the nature of brackets) so I just put them against each other in a single match at the end.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have I'll do my best to answer them all.
Some general observations
- Items tend to make CPUs spaz out. When they both reach an item at the same time they'll sheild roll around it until the item dissapears.
- The Samus stage and unlockable Mario stage aren't good for the CPU's. They either walk of stage unintentionally or fall into the fire pits below trying to get an item.
- The hammer is extremely OP and the CPUs AI isn't good at avoiding it at all. Also plenty of occurances where the CPU holding the hammer would walk off the stage randomly.
- Planted mines were a fucking disaster. Most of the time they'd be randomly thrown and it would be the person who threw it who would be more likely to run it over.
- Fire flowers were comical. Once a CPU player got caught in them, they'd take the full damage of it 90% of the time. I'd say worse than hammer if you're a CPU player.
Come on kids get in here I know there's autists like me here somewhere.
>You turned items on
You fucked the experiment up before it even begun, you know that right?
>Guys I'm gonna flip this coin a hundred times and let you know if heads or tails won!
About to finally play the first dark souls on pc for the first time. I have almost no knowledge of any of the dark souls games. Anything I should know before playing?

Friendly reminder to everyone co-opting to be a good and courteous phantom. Stick near the host and make sure they get where they want to go. Remember, it might be there first time and they might want to explore the area. A good phantom does not charge ahead, kill all the enemies, open all the shortcuts and leave his host in the dust. Stick with your Heir.
Be good, /v/.
Can't wait for the rusemaster videos of DS3

So we can agree that while it is the most active, the PvP is the least fun it has ever been, right?
The only time I had fun with PvP was when I was on the side of the host and we just effortlessly kicked in the shit out of every invader because its hilariously unbalanced.
>>334666145
I actually am a pretty good phantom. I just follow the host usually and do whatever he wants to do. The problem is deciding how long to stay. I might have only wanted help with a certain area and then wants you to fuck off.
Can we talk about this game for a second?
>autism deep mech customization
>deep online faction based multiplayer where wars take place for close to a week and decided by flashpoint engagements
>best controls the series has ever gotten, both heavy and light ACs feel and move realistically yet still feel like huge powerful mechs
>can program a squad of UNACs to deploy with you on operator mech missions
>insanely deep UNAC AI core customization based upon efficient chip programming
>UNACs level up by learning from mission files, it really feels like an adaptive AI system you have control over
>good balance of difficulty
>can customize territory and add defensive struts, MCs, tanks and other NPC troops
Why did this game have to fail? It was god tier mecha and one of the best AC games.
>AI chip programming
That shit was retardedly deep, most normies will never have the desire to have a mecha simulator that deep
Games like Armored Core never go beyond of being niche games. That and practically nonexistent marketing if I remember right.
>>334666397
This actually. I agree it was an amazing and impressive mecha game but holy shit I just couldn't keep up with all the mechanics. I felt like a monkey in a the cockpit of a rocket shit and all I was doing was randomly hitting buttons.
I had fun with it for a while but it got to the point where I just wasn't getting good at the game and it was getting frustrating.
I'm not saying to make the game more casual or something. Maybe ease the player in better? Like, unlock features over time instead of making you try to comprehend massive swathes of stuff at once.
Or maybe I'm just an idiot, whatever.
just finished SC and now I feel empty inside
what do?

What comes to your mind when someone says "They're an idea person"?
Is it true or is that just a way of saying they can't offer any actual concrete work?Skeleton thread if the former doesnt work out
So then I'll assume they're just full of shit?
>>334665414
>Is it true or is that just a way of saying they can't offer any actual concrete work?
Yup, it pretty much screams that. Good ideas are a dime a dozen; making the idea work takes a ton of hard work.
>>334665874
active involvement with said idea and the people to make it a reality - do you think thats at least some step in a better direction?
It's time for Miku Monday!
Did you import Diva X, or are you waiting for the western release?
I wonder if Future Tone will be translated or if we'll just have to get it off JP PSN.

I never did get around to picking up Project Mirai. Should I have?
Were adventure games merely the walking simulators of their time?
only young dipshits would even suggest that, OP
>>334664969
Close, but I think you're not giving adventure games enough credit.
For starters, most adventure game were 3rd person. So you have a fully animated, interactive character. More than you can say for a walking simulator (first person, no character).
Second the variety of different places you could go to. Most walking simulators are limited to one or two isolated places right?
adventure game have puzzles and require brainwork to complete, so no.
