The Wiimake of the first game didn't sell enough so Bamco thought no one wanted anymore Klonoa games.
So how much do you think they actually kept from that E3 2013 announcement trailer? Those water effects? Those sexy animations? Those jaw-dropping maneuvers? THAT WHOLE FUCKING SEQUENCE?

Casuals can't into CRPGs. And to be fair, out of all those games AoD and DOS really don't belong there because they weren't aiming to recapture the nostalgia of games of old. DOS is probably the only really modern CRPG I can think of and AoD decidedly does its own thing.

You're in Temeria, the biggest and bestest kingdom of the North. Other Northern kingdoms are Redania, Kaedwen and Aedirn.
The war was between Northern Kingdoms and Nilfgaard (basically >H>R>E mixed with Arabs or some shit like that). It started because Nilfgaards are cunts who see everyone else as barbarians. They were defeated after a decisive battle of Brenna. As of Witcher 1 there's peace.
