Come back when you're old enough to post here. Trends are cyclical. For example, everyone HATED Brink when it came out but a lot of people have been warming to it. This happens with a shitload of games. OW has waifus and sparkly graphics but people will eventually get tired of the gameplay and most likely go to Battleborn.

Just finished DS1 on PC, thought it was fantastic.
Do I play DS2 or 3 next? I hear everyone on here shit on 2 constantly, but that could just be a meme.

2 is not as bad as people say it is. Yes, it is not as good as DS1, but it's not bad to the point where it's unplayable. If you do get DS2, get Scholar of the First Sin to get all of the DLC.

DaS2 improved upon some things from DaS1 but also fucked a lot of core concepts like PvP up. It's definitely worth a play but it will not be the sequel you expect or are looking for.
DaS3 seems to just be generally okay, but not spectacular. Invest in a PS3 so you can play DeS at least, or PS4 for Bloodborne.

But I can also recognize that the only vidya related thing worth a damn to come out of it is Shovel Knight. Yooka-Laylee looks pretty good too.
It gave us Yooka-Laylee, Chivalry, FTL, Shovel Knight, andUndertale, so its obviously not all bad.
In fact, I've been incredibly happy with 90 percent of what I've backed. In spite of /v/'s unfortunate tendency to generalize entire services and platforms based on "blunders," I think it's been an overall net positive these last five years.
Less than 1% chance of not being a scam.

Why is this game so fantastic?
In a weird turn of irony, the constant additional content turned me off the game.
It's like becoming a master in your field, taking a short break and returning to find that everything has changed and you need to start from square one again.
I have over 400 hours logged, but none since any major update.
