So, is this game actually worth my time?
I remember buying it last year, but I gave up playing because slow progression of story and dull combat (+Bloodborne)
Should I give it another shot?

Probably. If you haven't played the earlier games, you won't have much investment and may not want to try again, but the game is good enough so that it's worth a shot.

Hopes for the new Sonic game they're gonna announce?
It's a retelling of the original 4 games as one huge story about Classic, leading up to the events in Generations which will get a remastered version with a special ending that will set up the next Classic game.
Modern is being discontinued, just Boom and Classic from now on.

I never owned a wii or a gamecube
So the Wii U is basically 3 consoles in one for me.
Plus other emulators.

but that's a pretty rare thing, most just get added in my backlog/notes of "stuff to play eventually" (in case of Wii U stuff, likely on emulator in a few years.. even then not sure if I'll get to it)
I just have too many things to play as-is, not exactly starved for games.

In GTA and other games of this type I just do the missions and I'm done with it.

gta was always the best to free roam cause you could just rack up stars and fuck around with cheat codes etc.
I typically do missions, there is almost never a point to open world for me either.

The only good zombie mode in CoD was the original PvP mod for 4. Which was soon replaced by a godawful PvE mod after the release if WaW.
Zombie mode is terrible.
