I played some of this. Thought it was unfun floaty garbage with movement worse than GTA5. Played the previous two in the Witcher series, and I consider this a huge downgrade in gameplay. It's uncontrollable batman arkham garbage, and very few of the game's features actually work as intended.
Quit after having fun with Geralt's upper body's animation being frozen in a retarded pose for over 30 minutes, while riding horse and during combat.
Why in God's name is it considered GOTY?

Nintendo won E3 2016. And that's terrifying.
I'm probably not ever going to play the new Zelda, and I'm only sorta interested in it. But I think on any measure that matters, Nintendo won.
It really is amazing how when you advertise a single game AS A GAME, with the repetitive systems that make up the core gameplay, it's more appealing than any "slice" could be.
We know what games are actually like. They are like what we saw in Zelda. You get into a gameplay loop and find fun new stuff around the place.
Who the fuck knows what all those other games at E3 are actually like?

The latest trailer looked really interesting.
I hear Cage only wrote the first draft and there's other people writing it so it should be better.
I like the occasional movie non-game and this one, if that new trailer is anything to go by, will be really great and have a ton of rewatchability. I'll be picking it up after I read reviews to make sure Cage didn't get involved in the ending and adding native american ghost curses or some shit.

I honestly don't think the game looks bad at all. Then again I haven't played any Paper Mario game except Super Paper Mario (which was pretty boring imo).But the dev for the game is pants-on retarded holy shit.
So /v/, convince me what makes the Paper Mario series so special compared to other RPGs of the same caliber.
Chapters have imaginative areas with different segments as you progress (fighting arena, inside a toy box, snow area and town and a crystal castle), swappable battle partners with varied abilities, simpler mechanics where it is just health magic and ability/equipment slots to raise when you level up.
It's a simple rpg with a good artstyle and Mario in it and it is cool.
