The pop culture references got out of control after the first game, and eventually more or less became the premise of the game. Easy pop culture references are pretty uninspired as it is, but the whole package in general became uninspired too. Let's add transformations to water down the formula, make boss monkeys that are basically human instead of the interesting parallel between a genuine kid and animalistic monkeys in the first game, with Specter blurring the line in an engaging way.

DS2 is the game everyone loves to hate; logic, reason and facts will not sway the shitposters here.
It still has the best PvP in the series, PvE content is also the most meaty (inb4 muh quality>quantity!!!!) and it has more than like 3 meta builds that every shitter uses in the other games due to the larger variety in equipment.

DS2 is my favourite, and here's why.

If he cut the clothe after the implantation, then Phoenix is completely fucked.
I know Phoenix is supposed to win but this feels like the writer wrote himself into a corner, didn't know how to solve the case so he bailed out and let Gant made a stupid mistake instead.
This case is ruined for me.
