The original runs like shit but has arguably a better balance and challenge, Rebirth is generally regarded as better. Just avoid Afterbirth, unless you're really that desperate for daily runs.
Game is okay, a little overhyped (and I'm speaking as someone with around 600 hours in BoI+Rebirth); great time-filler game.
