Digimon's anime is only good every other season.
Pokemon's anime follows a kind of inverse bell curve, were it started out okay then got pretty shit and is getting better again.
The games are kind of spotty on both fronts.
Pokemon games tend to be endless rehashes even within the spinoff series. Occasionally you'll get a truly great game, but you're usually just saddled with mediocre trash.
Digimon games have small bursts of actually amazing games, but are mostly just discount SMT.
Anyone else hyped as fuck?

It was impressive for its time but it lacks the depth and complexity of a true rts

Buy the HD collection. Start with the original. The series really starts to get good with Going Commando, the second game.
Explain why Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is a shit remake. Hard mode: Don't use "unrealistic Matrix cutscenes" and "Ocelot fight easier with first-person mode" as examples.
I never understood why people criticize the cutscenes for being too "unrealistic, wacky, and over-the-top to take seriously", when the entire series is pretty fucking goofy. Yes, admittedly MG1, MG2, and the PS1 version of MGS are more grounded, but they're also more expressionless (granted, that's due to hardware limitations). But all the sequels have silly shit and super actiony segments as well.
In terms of the Ocelot boss fight being easier, yeah, I won't deny that using the first person view kinda eliminates the difficulty. However, you can also, you know, not use it.

The only ones that do all the wacky shit in the sequels are the Ninja-like characters, you don't see Snake, Big Bpss, Solidus, Liquid do Dante style maneuvers Solid Snake does in Twin Snakes.
Also gems like Snake throwing a tantrum and almost shooting the Armstech president for not remembering the password or Snake looking at the obvious sniper laser sight and having the slowest reaction in the world.
It's a gem of the game
The redone environments look like cheap plastic and are missing the texture and grit of the originals.
The imported MGS2 mechanics and the redone cutscenes add nothing to the game.
Everything good about it is what it keeps from the original MGS1.
