Sweet, new thread. Let's get some discussions going, as the new episode is coming out Saturday, and the game just came out

So far, I like it. The FPS constant drop is annoying, certain characters are OP, the combat, while addicting, isn't expanded upon too greatly, graphics look good, and the VA is typical RWBY quality, and the controller supporter, while functioning, is a bit messy. I would be down to play it with sisters though, as I have had very cute moments so far.

Rainbow girl is bringing the smack down, Fab dude looks pretty snazzy, Qrow is top contender with best male character, Plot, while moving forward, is still fairly vague about the threat and needs to pick up its shit, and Winter is 10x the sister Yang could ever dream to be.
That said, Christmas in July stands as new Submarine to the party, and is looking good.

It is kinda weird that Emerald gets little attention. As far as Glynder goes, though, it's easy to see how Cinder might spend more time chasing after a gem like Glynda, as opposed to a young, naive, inexperienced toy like Emerald.

I like her design, too, same with most of the cast. That's a strange thing that happens mainly ontumblr, where people are perfectly fine with making Blake black and driving home the whole "oppression" thing, but then they lose their mind whenever someone draws Emerald just a hint too light. I don't know how those people even breathe. They are a special kind of stupid. I just found it odd that some of the fandom draw Emerald light skinned and Blake dark skinned. That's probably it. The ship versions of the characters seem to have more personality that whatever Miles and Kerry could write. It looks like they're improving so maybe we'll actually get good character development from now on. I tend to think of them as their boring cookie-cutter characters otherwise. Cinder is the typical "keikaku" evil villain and Glynda is the typical stern teacher. I have to admit, I'm digging the sarashi thing Cinder is rocking. I also have a thing for navels/midriff so it could just be that.

I would agree with you, however, there are two faults I see in the future. 1: We have yet to see who JNPR sent to the duo rounds. Now, they could have been like team RWBY and sent their most logical teammates forwark, ie power-house Nora and champ Pyrrha. However, this leads to fault #2: We have yet to see a set of Jaune centered episodes. /u/ know it's coming, like it has before. Then the fandom goes back to the shitter.
BUT, in the off chance rt manages to pull off an entire volume without a Jaune character development episode, my hope in the show will be restored.

Who knows? I expected RT to go with Ruby and someone else on the teamwho's not Weiss because they hate usbut they surprised me with Yang and Weiss. I thought that was a pretty big leap of improvement. Miles and Kerry went from predictably bad in Volumes 1 and 2 to pretty decent in Volume 3...so far anyway. The writing in the show is really bad but from my perspective it is all traceable to a single problem; far too many secondary characters.
Seriously. The only characters that have seen any significant character development so far are Jaune and Blake, because they keep having to waste time simply ~establishing~ all the characters. It's a writing sin for them to do this with the limited runtime they have available.
Depending on how exactly you split them up, there are now 5 main characters and 23 secondary characters. It's too much.
If I were writing the show, keep RWBY as the A-team and focus all the major character development on them. They can have episodes focused upon them. JNPR is B-team and if they get character development it should be a side-plot running alongside the main. Ditch giving excessive detail to CFVY or SSSN; they are just background material. Don't start developing Roman only to ditch him.

The way I would have done it is:
Drop the entire school aspect and the "everyone is divided into discrete teams of four" system with it.
Start by following Ruby as she travels alone. ALONE.Spend at least two (no more than four) episodes just establishing her character and goals before any of the rest of her team even meet her. Weiss, Blake and Yang should also interact with her a bit before joining her in her quest.
The end of season one would be them finally coming together as a team.
Season two would start on their journey to do... whatever the fuck the plot is. It really should have been established early on along with Ruby's character.
The vast menagerie of other characters would drop in and out of the story as needed, but never overstay their welcome.
