We don't know how strong Raven is, and Raven completely failed to actually stop Neo or prevent her escape. Neo simply retreated when an unexpected event occured and she was facing an opponent of unknown strength and power. Really, the smart thing to do.
Also I highly doubt Cinder cares about Raven being around. She didn't seem to consider Qrow much of a threat to her current stage of planning, and she was more than comfortable taking Glynda head on. She is seeding animosity. Grimm feed on and are attracted to negative emotion, now there is a ton of it surrounding the tournament.
She is putting continually more pressure on the brotherhood, not worrying about someone's mom showing up to stop her plans. This is also why she's probably going to do something similar with Penny during that fight, making things even worse, and taking down Ironwood in the process.

Summer could have intentionally gotten herself killed so no one could steal her power, and Cinder/whoever wouldn't be able to know that it was passed to Ruby until it manifests in her.

Also the implication seemed to be that the brotherhood was aware of where the other seasons are, and nothing has happened to them yet--and if she was a season, why wouldn't they pull her down with Pyrrha to tell her about it? They're desperate enough to try experimental, untested aura stealing technology on Pyrrha, but don't want to get Ruby, who is just a couple years younger involved? Even though she is skilled for her age and would have the season power naturally?
I don't think Summer was a season. I think if anyone has the potential to be a season, it's Yang, as someone pointed out above, Raven's abilities might very well be a manifestation of Season power. And being a season would explain why she's staying completely hidden from the world, even as the brotherhood is gathering their strength.

If she was a season, her powers would already be with Ruby/Yang, and they would have been brought in with Pyrrha to learn the truth. Names =/= being a season, just look at Winter, she clearly isn't a season since they haven't even allowed her into the inner circle. Cinder's name is just a coincidence, why would she change her name to let everyone who ever meets her know her plan? And by the same logic, why would Summer be named Summer if she were the Summer season? That kind of blatantly defeats the entire point of the seasons being hidden from the public view.
It's also a mistake to assume that summer = fire, Cinder possesses half of the Autumn Season's powers, and her entire theme is built around fire.

Yeah, that's my guess, though not necessarily the summer one. She seems to have pretty insane powers that go beyond just being powerful elemental ability (which doesn't make much sense, since the old man gave the seasons powers to help others). She left her friends and family to basically go off-grid and disappear, and has been staying hidden ever since, etc.
She seems the most likely candidate for season out of the characters we know.

"Unlike many, our semblance is hereditary" because all semblances would be hereditary. Hereditary =/= identical, your hair and skin color are hereditary, but aren't identical because only part of them are passed on.

Not after episode 6. Pyrrha was visibly distraught in the opening shot of the finals contenders, so it had to have actually been her. Neo wouldn't hold up the illusion for that long because the only person it would be fooling is the viewer at that point, semi-breaking the fourth wall.

I get what you are saying, but there is no evidence of it.
Just because Neo's illusion shattered once doesn't mean it absolutely has to shatter anytime she's using one and it gets hit. She uses an illusion at the very beginning of her fight against Yang on the train to redirect a hit and knock Yang back, and there is no shatter. She uses an illusion to escape the train when Raven shows up, and it doesn't shatter, it dissolves into a flash of light.
So I don't see why, when we already have a character who we know has the ability to make people see what isn't actually there (as we saw in Neo's very first appearance)--you'd assume that when people are seeing things that aren't actually there again, it's the power of a completely different character who has never been shown to have any connection to illusions.
It seems pretty clear to me that Neo is just sitting in the stands screwing with both the doubles and singles fights.

It's possible it's just something overlooked, they might have guards and refs posted to keep watch for something like that, but it's a thing that's very hard to pick up on--not only because it doesn't involve any flashy magic showing that it's happening (or any sign at all) but also because only the people being effected see the illusions, so there's literally no way to tell it's happening if you aren't the person its effecting.

That's not what happened on the screen, though. It looked like Yang was taunting Mercury and then hit him without moving away. Which doesn't exactly fit the idea of Neo/whoever else deceiving Yang, since her actions don't match what was shown on the recording, but it does fit the idea of Neo/whoever else fucking with the audience/recording.

It’s the greentexts that make me hate Neo or Cinder x Rubles, because apparently someone has to suffer for those relationships to work, like Yang getting her heart broken or Weiss losing her head. I get it, angst makes great storytelling, but I get depressed whenever someone mentions Fallen Petals. For a /u/ ship, that shouldn't happen.that right is deserved for the het ships.
