You've got Ned, you get Benjen, you get Lyanna and Hodor and gradually over the season you get a revelation about all 4 of those children. Ned with the dishonourable kill bullshit, Benjen as Coldhands, Hodor with Hold the Door and Lyanna with being Jon Snow's mother so it kind of all comes full circle.
Brandon wasn't relevant to the present plot of Season 6 so I guess that's why they didn't show him, granted they showed Rickard briefly so who knows. There was another guy there but he was identified as Ser Rodrik instead.

Which pretty much proves their ineptitude. Now that the show is a free for all with only a very loose outline provided by GRRM, Bran should be the single easiest character to write. They were very, almost non-existently, vague about the extent of his powers, and they've now established that he can see any event in history, and perhaps the future as well. He should be the character that jumpstarts the rest of the entire fucking plot, but nope. D&D were like, "uhhhh, I guess we'll reveal Jon's parents sort of. Over the course of an entire season." Instead of using Bran to map out some kind of strategy to defeat the White Walkers, they use him to confirm a longstanding fan theory that doesn't actually matter one way or another in the grand scheme of things.

When I first heard about it (I read the spoilers first), I was mad about Rhaegar's absence in the reveal. But when I thought about it, them not mentoning him in that moment isn't damning so much as an indication we will see him on the show rather than not.
Before I was thinking he wouldn't have a physical appearance (based on casting/location spoilers for S6) and they'd just make sure that we "get it" through dialogue, but they didn't. There's no way to just ignore him completely, so now they haven't mentioned him at the most crucial moments it probably means they're just holding back a full exploration of Rhaegar in the next season.

You touched on a huge issue for me. They have not been very clear at all on how brans powers work or how far he is in his "learning". Based on what they've shown us you're right that he can see any event in history, in the present, and in the future. There doesnt seem to be any limitations on how far geographically he can see (he saw visions from kings landing and even essos) and no limitations on how far in time he can see.
Theoretically this makes him by far the most overpowered character on the map now, because following this logic, he could easily see exactly how everything is going to end, from the war to the dawn to who's going to sit on the iron throne and every other seat of power throughout the world. I suspect this will never be touched on because that obviously ruins the story but it feels strange to me that there is a character who can reveal literally anything about the story at any point yet we're supposed to accept that he'll just choose not to be curious about this.
Theyre keeping him around just to reveal bits of history whenever its convenient and it feels really cheap and poorly done. They should have been way more clear about the limitations of his powers and the fact that he doesn't have complete control of them yet, because after ep 10 it seems hes magically an expert now who can go wherever he wants whenever he wants, and this seems incredibly unearned from a character development standpoint.

Lets put it like this then, just to play devil's advocate, because they probably intended for it to be just random mystical mumbo.
Bran is not skilled enough to use the flashbacks freely like the three eyed raven could. However, he can revisit the visions the three eyed raven have previously shown to him and watch the event developed further. The visions form the future are completely random, just sparks from the cosmos or some shit that are revealed to Bran because of his sensitive mind. He cannot control them, and its possible that he never will, but he will still catch glimpses of the future because his mind is open to recieve them.

Theres no canonical evidence that this explanation is true so I can't accept this as anything other than a headcanon interpretation of it. again, the show needs to be more clear about things like this if this is what they actually intended. This. I honestly about shat myself when D&D talked about how the 3ER was apparently uploading his abilities into Bran after the Night King incident. That did not come across at all. Honestly, I still don't really understand what that means. Did he upload his memories or something? If it was that easy, why wouldn't he just do that to begin with instead of dicking around for two seasons? And why didn't Bran know who Benjen was? And if, as just about everyone on earth is presently speculating, the Night King's mark is what will bring down the Wall, why doesn't Bran know that. Why wouldn't he assume that given what just occured? Why wouldn't 3ER just say, hey, quick heads up before they get here, don't go through the fucking Wall with that mark on your arm? Everything about Bran's arc is super underwritten.
