There's really onlu one character associated with Asshai and it isn't that big a deal in the books either.
Oldtown has every Maester we've ever met associated with it. There's also big plans for it in the show. It's the farthest west the show has been. Qarth is also the farthest East we've actually visualized.
The writers recognize not every member of the audience isn't as lore centric as deep ASOIAF fans and Tolkienites. We probably won't ever see Asshai and we definitely will never see Ibben.

There's not a single good reason for them to marry. They are already related fairly closely, they share common goals and interests, and they even like and support one another. What is to be gained through marriage? Targs only married within the family to keep their Valyrian bloodline pure, there's little point in doing that between Starks.
In terms of what he stands to gain, Dany is the obvious prize but it's doubtful he'd get it. Short of that, a powerful daughter from the Vale or the Reach would be the next best thing.

The only real threat in her army is the Dragons. Neither Dothraki nor Unsullied will be much help storming the heaviest fortifications in Westeros, she'd lose thousands of men trying to take Casterly Rock or King's Landing, let alone a beast like Storm's End or something utterly impregnable like the Eyrie.
What will make the difference is Dragons, which makes castles irrelevant and sieges unnecessary. The Dothraki make excellent raiders but I doubt she'd condone that, so they'd be relegated to scouting and chasing down skirmishing parties and cutting down any lord foolish enough to meet her in the field. Unsullied would make excellent garrison troops in any castle or town she takes, they don't require somebody to watch them to make sure they don't rape and loot and they'll keep excellent order.

They have massive numbers of hardened fighters who are also amazing horsemen. They have a massive mobility advantage over westerosi armies that are mostly infantry, and also peasant levies and conscripts. Dothraki would cut through them like a scythe through wheat. Only the knights and men-at-arms would give them any real fight, but the superior numbers of the Dothraki cavalry and the fact that literally all they do is fight on horseback would make the outcome all but certain.
Maybe if they had some kind of genius tactician on the Westerosi side that managed to use the terrain they could win, but again: dragons. If the Dothraki start to lose Dany can just flip the table and sic her dragons on them.
