The endings of each season perfectly exemplify the decline of the series
S1. Faithful to the books, solid foundation to the series, builds up a believable world and enjoyable story and deploys surprising but well-seeded twists that both affirm the rules of the story and expand our understanding of it.

They basically cut Varys's master plan, one of the more interesting parts of the books. The Aegon plot is really Varys's story, and it just feels like a weaker series without master planner Varys.

Dany finally reaches Kingslanding Tyrion advises she stay behind because of wildfire and hold her dragons too. The rest of the Dothraki and half of the reachmen enter the city the Dothraki slaughter and rape with no opposition which the reach men find strange outside the city jamie and cersie escape with the kingguard and the Lannister army. Cersie admits to jamie set gregot is lighting the caches of wildfyre under the city and says she hopes the imp and his savage army dies along with the peasents. Jamie kills he and the Lannister army head toward either Casterley Rock or The twins.
Olenna pulls out her troops. Dany complains says she pledged het army. Ollena interjects saying it was only to avenge her grandchildren which she did. With all the Dothraki dead dany now has an army of about 25000 which is composed mostly of dornishmen and unsullied.
Sam finds something at the citidel about mass producing Valryan steel and white walkers eurons invades the citidel believing there to be a secret weapon to defeat the dragons at the citidel(dragon binder I know it's not like in the books but it'll make more sense show wise) and something else.
