The problem is that D&D didn't want a large cast, so they removed like 75% of the people in the cast and just had other character playing the part. That is becoming more difficult to maneuver because now those different characters are doing really important things all over the world, but in the show those characters are 1 guy/gal. SO their solution is to teleport them around like they are on Star Trek and have them be everywhere.
