I could go on. The point is, the show has done away with any semblance of travel, and travel is a hugely important part of what made this show to begin with.

Choose one. Shit's gotta happen. It's best to just assume that not all the events of every episode are happening concurrently.
This world building was mostly to provide context for the incredibly complex world this show takes place in. But that's been set up. Also season 1 had 4 storylines, 5 at it's peak (King's Landing, Winterfell, Dany, The Wall, Catleyn/Robb). Now there's so many, we don't even see each one week to week.
The show has cut off some of it's slower moments BECAUSE it's become increasingly more complex. It's like a language that we were learning at the beginning, but are now fluid at. So we don't need to SEE characters traveling from one place to another, we can move away from them for an episode or two and then continue with them when their doing something actually interesting.
TL;DR the show hasn't lost site of what it was, it's treating the viewers with enough respect to assume they don't need a small check in every 2 seconds with each character

A lot of criticism toward D&D about S6E9 is valid but this isn't. That was explicitly Ramsay's strategy with the arrows. It's why he didn't cease killing his own men (that and the whole sadistic bastard thing). And moreover this is an actual phenomenon in close combat war, specifically seen in the civil war.
I'm not saying D&D haven't occasionally ignored logic and writing for spectacle, but this was actually a really intelligent and well-researched aspect of the battle.
