Can someone explain to me WHY theyre bringing back the Brotherhood without Banners UNLESS there was actual plot points to come out of it.
The Hound plotline has to go somewhere as does Donadrions etc. Lady Stoneheart is VIABLE now, and if not then why not with the Black Fish (Which would actually do nicely considering his hatred for the Freys and off screen death).
WTF are D&D playing out not taking advantage of bringing them back and creating these characters.
If they're not going to do that then in all honesty the whole Riverlands scenes are filler between the BastadBowl and whatever is currently happening in KLs.
Where are these plotlines going if not Stoneheart and the eventual end of the Freys?

Honestly, despite the riverlands being in the book i don't understand why they're bringing it back. For what purpose? The loose ends were ignored for 2seasons so what is the overall purpose in bringing it all back when it doesn't need to backup what we're seeing from the start of Season 5?
The Riverlands and return of The Hound feel pointless atm, even though i'm actually really happy to see them back. I just don't understand where this is going.

Why in the name of fuck did all the unsullied think they were being attacked? They heard a large thump, and they're at the top of a pyramid. It's fucking obvious that it's either a loose dragon, or one of the fireballs. Neither is a situation where you send a guy out with his shield raised and only looking forward.
The masters have some really good trebuchet and fire-control technology, as well. Being able to throw those balls of fire as high as they did from bloody ships.
I'm someone who hasn't really been that disappointed by an episode this season. A few gripes here and there sure but nothing to huge.

Overall I came out of this episode feeling like... nothing.
The writing just seemed bland and anticlimatic (except from the Hound's one liners).
We got:
Jaime's character arc still doing fuck all as he "just wants to return to Cersei"
Arya apparently being Beric Dondarrion and being able to fall down steps on stab wounds
Arya was actually that stupid and got stabbed
Dany confidently showing up on time (who expected that)
CLEGANEBOWL dreams crushed
Riverrun storyline just building up to nothing, we don't even get to see the Blackfish fight it out (albeit even the start)
Arya's storyline in Braavos concluding to be nothing more than a 2 season long "phase" like some teenager getting into goth music.
The Hounds mini revenge arc is very mini, who killed the peaceful people and left the supplies? Just some fucking nutters who get quickly hung :)

Am I the only one disappointed by how little we've seen the Mountain in action so far? Not even talking about Cleganebowl here.
Since the Viper vs. Mountain episode I've developed quite a liking for the Mountain and was really excited to see him in action again with his new zombie look. But now it's been 8 episodes and only things that happened so far were 2 random guys getting their head smashed.
Of course it was great, but objectively it was, what... not even 2 minutes long? They've been blue-balling us for a while now, I really expected and wanted to see a real fight with the Mountain against the faith mobs, but they completely failed to deliver that. Like you said the trailer had already showed all of this, and instead we got the same Tyrion scene we got a few episodes back, albeit out of place this time, eating up 10min for nothing.
Here's hoping for some more Mountain action in episode 10.

It's pretty much that they decided to cut the bulk of the storylines and character arcs, but at the same they're fucking terrified of it being another Lost and having people be able point to earlier setups and characters in the show that were abandoned and didnt get payoff.
So they're dredging up old storylines and characters (a good example of this is Walder, Rickon/Osha and Blackfish/Brotherhood) but only for 3 minute scenes where they can be killed off mindlessly rather than displaying the actual evolution and can of worms that those storylines would be. If they went full Arianne/Dorne, Aegon, LSH, Greyjoy plots then they know they'd do 10 seasons, so we're getting these abridged versions that haven't moved in time since then and are rushed to die off.
It's pretty retarded either way and they might as well have just fucking done LSH or not addressrd these locations at all, but that's basically the reason and why we've seen so much shit writing particularly in regards to these low priority characters and areas. It's not that they want to bring them in and do them right, it's that they want to create an illusion that the show actually addressed everything (even at the risk of it being cheap) by the time they hit the end.
