Depends on the approach to be honest, because I pictured the scene you described and frankly it's not bad at all. I hadn't considered wildfire for instance, which would at least mean Kings Landing is actually contributing to the cause. Either way, right now I believe Sam is crucial in order to learn more about the Night's King even more than Bran, because I would be scared shitless of trying another vision near the Big Baddie if the outcome is nearly as bad as the last time.
