PREDICTIONS FOR THE FINALE
The "Doctor is half human" will be teased but never confirmed in true Moffat style.
The Hybrid of the prophecy will be something metaphorical and anticlimactic.
We'll see a male to female regeneration on screen for the first time.
The Cybermen, Weeping Angels and Daleks from the released pictures will be nothing more than cameos.
The Doctor will Clara back to life. She gets a Tardis.
He will get a new Sonic Screwdriver.
By the end of the episode Gallifrey will stay in hiding and the Doctor will fuck off to have more adventures and not be bothered about it anymore. Until they come up with an idea for the next Gallifrey story. Basically the Gallifrey status quo will be like it was in the Classic Who era in the Pertwee/Tom Baker seasons.

Series 10 could be centered around some force or conflict which brings them into contact with they Doctor, and they work together to stop it.
It could be an interesting dynamic where The Doctor's "companions" (emphasis) are fellow Time Lords.
As a result, they struggle to keep each other from going all "Time Lord Victorious" and becoming evil.
This is especially hard for the Doctor who's just coming off of the trauma of Clara's death, as well as continuous torture.

A woman could potentially be more interesting, but only if the next head writer is good (she should be different from all the male Doctors but still recognizably the same character, and maybe have some kind of arc where she gets to come to terms with her new condition, but without trying too hard to pander to feminists).
A black man would probably be the safer choice, just having darker skin doesn't impact the writing. He can be just another Doctor like we've always had, only black.

Fright Night wasn't stellar but it wasn't the same level as Thor 2 or Terminator in terms of what the actors had to work with. 10 is that ''cool'' uncle that's a bit of a prima donna. When you're a kid, he's the greatest dude you've ever met, has your father jealous every time, he brings cool gifts, is pretty funny/charming, but later you'll just realize he was really egotistical and hard to deal with.
