Have you seen 'Chef'?
Yes, Scarlet and Downey were in it because they like Jon right?
>>64175579
I have.
Can cooking really get you Scarlett Johannson-tier prime pussy?
I enjoyed this movie. Renewed my interest in the culinary arts. Loved the theme of building a Father-Son bond. Not much of that in Hollywood these days.
Overall, the movie was enjoyable, but holy fucking shit the plot has some MAJOR holes.
>somehow Fin actually made it through training with no sign of mental weakness yet apparently they're training the "finest soldiers"
>captain phasma lowers the shields almost instantly for the First Order's most powerful weapon.
>every stormtrooper helmet has a commset built in, captain phasma easily could've called for help
>even if she didn't she would very well know that dying for the security and protection of the First Order's most powerful weapon.
>Rey is somehow more potent with the force than Kylo Ren even though he's had years of training and she hasn't had any.
>Rey is somehow as good as Kylo Ren at sword fighting even though he's had years of training and she hasn't had any.
>Kylo Ren doesn't even fight like he's injured so there's no reason he should've lost that fight
>Also, there's no way a stormtrooper would've been left with Rey knowing that she can use the Force.
tl;dr Rey should've never escaped, Captain Phasma never would've lowered the shields.
>>somehow Fin actually made it through training with no sign of mental weakness yet apparently they're training the "finest soldiers"
He has the force, the force awakened in him in battle
>>captain phasma lowers the shields almost instantly for the First Order's most powerful weapon.
She would have been killed if she didn't
>>every stormtrooper helmet has a commset built in, captain phasma easily could've called for help
nitpicking
>even if she didn't she would very well know that dying for the security and protection of the First Order's most powerful weapon.
Dark side has no loyalty obviously
>>Rey is somehow more potent with the force than Kylo Ren even though he's had years of training and she hasn't had any.
direct descendant of luke
>Rey is somehow as good as Kylo Ren at sword fighting even though he's had years of training and she hasn't had any.
he was injured, plus the force awakened
>Kylo Ren doesn't even fight like he's injured so there's no reason he should've lost that fight
he was injured
>Also, there's no way a stormtrooper would've been left with Rey knowing that she can use the Force.
okay mr. important commander
Where was Luke Skywalker during the Jedi massacre?
>>64175643
Probably wasn't there for whatever reason, else he could have easily stopped it. I really want to see Luke tear shit up in the next two movies at least once, since he's supposed to be this hugely powerful jedi.
I keep seeing people here shit on this show for no reason. I don't understand the hate, we've only seen four episodes so far, and the last one was pretty damn good.
I'm really excited because it feels like we finally have a decent new space opera set in an interesting universe that I've never seen before in a sci-fi show.
So, even though I don't think the show has been bad at all, I say to the critics just give it a chance because it's really the only show of its type that we have right now, and I'd like to see where the series goes.
That said, the one thing that really pisses me off about people criticizing this show is the people saying the scene where Holden hand-cranked the airlock shut was stupid. I don't understand this criticism, because if the electrical systems of the door were damaged and locked out, then an auxiliary backup hand-cranked system would be well in order. Most naval ships have electronically closing doors, but they also have a mechanical handwheel to close it manually.
>>64175383
this show is good, especially for the budget
>>64175575
The budget is actually pretty damn expensive for a Sy-Fy show, right?
I read in previous threads that there are rumors that if it doesn't get better ratings Sy-Fy is going to either lower the budget or cancel it or something.
I really hope this show works out, I just need ONE decent sci-fi show to replace the hole that Stargate / BSG / Firefly / Farscape left...
i hope they fucking stop doing the scenes with that old woman, i can't stand her "acting"
Okay, so I've always been generally familiar with the Star Wars series. I've seen Phantom Menace a bunch since I had the VHS, and I saw the theatrical release of episodes II and III. Because all I've heard of recently is the new addition, I took it upon myself to actually watch the original trilogy 3 days ago, and oh my god, I was almost ashamed I hadn't seen them before. They were AWESOME. Even though I've come across enough parodies and trivia to know most of what happens, i was able to shut it all off and become completely submerged in the films. The first duel between Vader and Luke actually was a good enough performance to bring me to tears (not necessarily sadness) during the "Obi Wan never told you the truth about your father" confrontation. I specifically keep thinking that people in 1977 must have been freaking out with how great the picture was visually, the concept and the story telling that helped successfully bring it all together. in short, being freshly exposed to the original trilogy, I can honestly say that it may be one of my top favorite movies series now, i haven't been able to get it out of my head since.
That all being said, on the subject of the new movie, Episode VII: The Force Awakens, I don't know what to say except that I'm fuckin' shocked.

Disney, who the hell do you think we are? How could you buy out the Star Wars franchise for such a large sum of money and then shit out this new addition to Star Wars that just ends up being another average Hollywood movie? Where do you get off having the nerve to follow up one of the greatest movie trilogies with this pile of shit? The beginning seemed just like anoy other opening you'd experience today, and it was so-so. of course they had to work in the oh-so-clever quirkiness/smartassishness that seems to be on the checklist of any adventure/superhero/sci-fi/fantasy movie that cones out now. I expected it to pick up, but it never really did evolve into anything amazing. Honestly, the only thing that made it seem like Star Wars was when something came on that had been referenced or shown in the past films.
I know Disney isn't necessarily held to the highest of standards today, but when you go out of your way to buy the Star Wars name for 4Bilion or 6 Billion, however much it was, at least make the effort!
If you're reading this and are still thinking of going to see it, please take my advice and wait a couple of months to buy it or pirate it off the internet, save your money for something else.

Is this a good movie to watch with my Husband's Daughter?
Episode VII is better than Episode IV in nearly every conceivable way. Read the Guardian review for the new film.

Doctor Strange will be kino, mark my fucking words.
Can we have a thread about this glorious motherfucker and his legendary escapades? The one a few days back was great.
Several biographers claim that Marlon Brando had an IQ of 90.
Is half of that stuff even true? I can see him taking a bite out of a frog and lobbing it back into the water, but getting MC'Ds thrown over a fence from his buddies to fix his hunger cravings?
I don't know, but something rings bullshit.

Sheev was made great because of Ian McDiarmid. If he were played by a lesser actor I don't think he would be as likable.

What genre should he do next and why?
he is already doing great work

I knew the twist the second the first trailer hit when I was still in middle school and had no interest in it until today.
Well it wasn't as horrible as I expected it was going to be but neither is it really good. I liked some of the shots used in this and the use of colour but that's about really. what did you think of the village?
>>64174634
Is Bryce hot in this like Jurassic world?
>>64176049
None of your business, fuck off.
what in the trailer tipped you off?
Seeing this tomorrow. Going into it expecting mediocrity and disappointment while the people I'm seeing it with lose their minds and praise it as the work of God. Is this accurate?
It's really good.
Keep your expectations in check and you'll enjoy it. It's a good movie, it just has a few flaws.
No one over the age of 12 gives a fuck. you absolutely did NOT have to create a new thread for this kiddie shit. take it to one of the other 100 threads.
