2 years late to the party, but I finally finished this series.
What was /tv/'s thoughts on the show, and more specifically, the finale.
Personally I found it to be well crafted with mostly good acting. Michael C. Hall was a work of art throughout the series. Batista remained a loyal fan favorite. Quinn became more likable, while Masuka remained the comic relief.
Also most people got what was coming to them... and that always ended with them being killed. Good point or bad, it is what it is.
My biggest gripe would be Deb, though. I don't think there was a single episode where she didn't cry at least twice. By the end of the series I was so sick of her bullshit that I had absolutely no sympathy for her death. She was a constantly negative, nagging character that pulled the show down.
But anywho... what did everyone else think of the show in retrospect, 2 years later?

Hopefully this whole shitty DCverse will crash and burn and we can start over again in ten years without Snyder and Goyer.
So the X-Files comes back on the 16th of January, which gives me about 17 days to watch all 202 episodes. Assuming an average of 45 minutes per episode, that's roughly 6 days and 7 hours worth of tv.
Now in theory I could probably do that, and I'm already 5 episodes in. I'm just curious as to whether or not binge watching will ruin anything, atmospherically speakng I mean, and whether it's even worth it. My hunch is that nothing will be wrecked because it follows a Buffy-like monster of the week structure, with some overarching lore lurking in the background. At the same time though that makes me think it's not worth marathoning, and I could get away with just watching the 'important' episodes and also the movies and still be up to date enough to shitpost with /tv/ in Jan.
On the other hand, since it's so acclaimed, there's probably tons of relationship and character development that I'd miss out on, which would just be a national tragedy, Burt.
Should I try or nah?

He's really not. People have come forward and pointed out that the movie King of Kong was heavily edited to put Billy Mitchell in as negative a light as possible for the purposes of being the villain of the film.
In reality, he's not that bad of a guy. If you read things about him, especially before King of Kong portrayed him as a douchebag, everyone who ever interviewed him really liked him. He's also given a lot to charities.
