I'd give it a 7.5/10, the dream sequences were a bit excessive and lacked context
Also it felt more like the first half of a justice league two-parter than a stand alone film, which I guess it is, but it suffered for it due to including a lot and not fulfilling it to its full potential

The best parts of Star Wars are Han being all "what's in it for me?" and "no reward is worth this" and Leia being all "this is some rescue" and "get this walking carpet out of my way" and Luke being all "I tried that already it's magnetically sealed!" or "we could buy our own ship for that".
The Original Trio got on each other's fucking nerves and bonded because they went through some shit, but the Sequel Trio just get excited...

Finn, Rey and Han (and to a lesser extent Poe) are way too trusting of one another and become insta-friends to a ridiculous degree. It's especially odd because Abrams is even aware of how important it is for characters to bond through adversity before becoming friends (see the 2009 Star Trek movie with Kirk and Spock), so he has no excuse this time.
