Because the hammer know it and presses against it and makes sure it doesn't break the table
They can't lift the hammer because it's heavy, not because it's fucking glued to the surface it's currently positioned on.
That means that the table was pressed down with all the hammer's weight, so lifting the table would be as hard as lifting the hammer itself.
