Last one died. Post toys with props you love. Starting with a few shitty photos of my own.
>>5666778
Do clothes as props since they can add a ton of character to a figure? I personally think so.

I actually just love this figure, in general
Does another toy count as a prop?
>>5673190
I love that photo. I will probably just do what you did for a pole though. The one i have is kinda shitty.
>>5671783
It's just Figma Kobayakawa Rinko with some Azone clothes. I see where the resemblance is though.
>>5673200
It's from a keychain. There's a much nicer one now, but I got it for $1.50 off eBay and shaved off the ring on top.
>>5672000
You should really use that backdrop more often. I personally like it.
>>5672090
He's so happy!
>>5673190
Nice handmade rod there!
>>5673210
Yeah, I'd count it. Just about any accessory that elevates a figure should count.
>>5673508
Where'd you get that spear thing?
>>5673508
>You should really use that backdrop more often. I personally like it.
When i moved the backdrop got ruined. The only place thag sells blue paper around me like that is 30 minutes away. I have yet to get a new piece. But thanks.
>>5673515
Ah! Maybe if you go to Walgreens and print out a photo backdrop of a sky, it could end up looking phenomenal.
>>5673510
It's from Mononofu. Like most of their stuff, it's anywhere between 1/6 and 1/10. The shaft of this thing is massive, I only have one figure that could hold it properly and that's BS Kylo Ren.
>>5673577
I tend to like hand made stuff. Plus, that is a charming photo you had of Megatron.
>>5673632

Hulk has had so many styles of face that i dont mind anymore.
BUt ant man there just russles mah jimmies.
Cool photo though.
>>5667675
The only way this one could be better is if instead of a log, he was sitting on his speeder, legs dangling off the side, the speeder hovering in place over the water.
>>5676072
Man that would be cool
I really wanna make Luke's black cloak from Return of the Jedi, for the Figuarts Luke, but I don't know how to sew. I can probably do the endor poncho, though, since it's just a square of fabric with a hole in the middle.
>>5675733
Not many people are a fan of mixing continuities, but I actually don't mind. I like buying the iterations of the characters that resonate with me, hence a mixed team. That, and Giant-Man is just too fun to play with, even if he is on the smaller side.
Also just noticed that Spider-Man's swing arc makes no sense in this picture but whatever, it's too late.
>>5673637
Oh you.

>>5676086
That chair looks comfy, but the colour and pattern are too garish for me.

It's a garden... thingy. I dunno. My mom had a couple of them, one broke and looks very ancient, the other you see in the pic.
>>5676153
Yeah I always have her with the cape but sometimes I like to think that she's just another trooper who went and got himself a really cool custom paint job to show off to his friends even though no one else thinks its that great. Plus without it she can move around more.

I kind of get what you were going for here, but the colour palette coupled with the distance from the figure makes it too impersonal for me. There's nothing really interesting in the foreground either to make it pop in spite of the background having some interesting details.
If you kept the same angle, but positioned Venom Snake much closer to the camera, say maybe to the left or right and kept his face and gun in focus, it would make for a more intimate photo.
That's just my thoughts.
I'm really digging the MM Link, especially all the extras they packed in with it.
Its also nice that the weather is warming up. I always do like seeing toys in nature shots.

Your picture did make me wonder though, would Motoko pop up on the Xenomorph's receptors as something akin to a synthetic? Does she even have a heat or pheremone signature?

I asked him and yeah, there's some reprinting going on. Still looks better than the base head in my opinion.

Guessing your the photographer really slick son! Perfect on its own but I have a couple of tips. Smoke adds depth/distance if you have a fog machine awesome. But you can buy cans of smoke http://www.atmosphereaerosol.com/products/buy
Also if you have some spray paint/fiberfill some wire and an led or two you can make slick explosion/smoke and fire effects

aaaaand it did. fantastic.
>>5690776
1600 is the maximum decent size.
I come out of web design so the idea of making something over 600 wide always gives me pause, though these days I prefer a 1200*900.
I need to get out more and take pictures. I'm always using my crappy light box.

I don't know what's taking them so long. They made Selina fucking Kyle and she was one of the worst things about the film.
>>5692135
The usual bugbear is rights issues, and it's complicated by the fact they've got a new Batman movie that just came out they're making toys for.
Speaking of, if the DCC collector movie whatever figures, the expensive ones they're trying to compete with figuarts and mafex with, if that Faora really doesn't have leg articulation like the ones they showed at SDCC, then god I hope MAFEX does a Faora.

>>5695693
Should've made your own senpai, get some LED daylight bulbs to fix that
>>5695693
This anon right here >>5695945 is right I use desk lamps and Daylight bulbs for my lightbox. I still edit some to make it a bit more vibrant and bright but not as much as with soft white bulbs and such.
>>5695983
Here's the small one I use. Its nice since it holds pencils and stuff. I got it at my local Target. It was on sale for $10.
>>5695983
>>5695991
Sorry for the sideways pic. Forgot to edit it.
Anyways here's the other one I use, the big one. It gives off more light since the cone radiates the light. Got this for $10 too at a Fry's since they were removing the furniture section.
>>5695991
>>5695997
Thanks, I'll try to find something like that.
Actually I just thought, maybe I don't need a new pair of lamps, just bulbs? If I can find some LED daylight bulbs for this type of lamp it'll save me having to replace them entirely.
These are the lamps I have.
>>5695983
I use lamps with a clip for the base, got 2 for $10 each, the bulbs are what really matter though
>>5695997
Ones like these are great, throw in a super bright daytime white LED and you have some great instant lighting for photos. Also great to mess around with some cheap colour changing LEDs too. Two of them with some paper or similar to defuse the light will make for a cheap decent lighting set up that isn't too big.
>>5666780
From a theater/film standpoint? Clothes are props until they're put on. Then they're costumes...but they can be removed and used as props again...soooo yes?
How big are your lightboxes? I'm trying to build a small-ish one since I have a small room.
>>5696003
Yeah that might work. Though I don't know how you would go about changing the bulbs on those since I haven't owned any like that. Still though you could do what >>5696004 did and get some lamps. Most of the time you can get them for like $5.
>>5696005
I totally agree. I only wish I had gotten there earlier to try and get two. I've also been meaning to try colored bulbs to spice up my photo sessions.
>>5696016
What camera are you using? I'm just using my phone camera. Also, thanks for the dimensions for yours, I think that size could work for a lightbox in my room.
>>5696015
I have two, the large one is 18in(W)x18in(D)x16in(H)and the small one is 12x12x12in I think. I made the small one first then went and made the big one for larger photo sessions.
>>5696036
This is the type. I just need to find some cool coloured LED ones.
The current ones I'm using are 240V 50W halogen bulbs.
>>5696036
I'm a phone-pleb too. I take all of my phones with my LG G4 in manual mode.
Regarding the photo box size, I think bigger is better, providing you have the space.
The one I have has white fabric sheets with metal frames for support, they stick together with velcro to make a box shape and have a built in carry case to fold away into, it's pretty handy for setting up and packing away after each photoshoot.
