Anyone else think it's fitting, in a "Fuck you with a razor dildo" spiteful sort of way that Funclub is making one of the most highly requested CW figures of the main cast of Transformers, Combiner Wars Ratchet, not just a fucking convention exclusive but a CUSTOMIZE CLASS EXCLUSIVE FIGURE....
Given how Generations G2 Sideswipe and TFA Minerva go for $300-500 a pop PLUS the bullshit where they used EVERY deco available short of the movie colors, to cockblock the figure getting a legit release at retail?

But to be expected since the fuckers started out their first Botcon releasing Towline as Ratchet, a redeco we SHOULD have gotten at retail but got fucked over, especially since Botcon Ratchet immediately went for $500-700 and remains unobtainable for a huge chunk of collecters given how his aftermarket price never went down.

Ugggh. I'm torn. I like takaras general detail also the new molds are great because I've never had blastoff or groove. Plus the sculpting and new gun are sick. Then again I hate the light speed mold and I prefer Hasbro's. I'll see if the takaras drill can go a bit upwards as a knee gaurd as the deciding factor on the leg, I hate the brawl mode but it makes a good looking leg. Also Hasbro has the new cosmos member. Either way I'm using the 3p upgrades :/

The Takara one is missing the pinkish red and their Afterburner is way to red. I may have to repaint it like this.
Apart from the hinge elbows (I see takara screaming "ITS JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL TOY DON'T YOU LIKE HOMAGES!?") I really do think primal is made for robot mode, its just about perfect.
The gorilla mode is hard to do, like any mp its very front on with the white robot calves exposed at the rear, and the feet, they're horrible, even the old ultra class can fold up the back bits, though I feel they allow him to stand upright better.
Can someone kindly post the pic with him with the other generations maximals, I know he's roughly voyager size but it'll help me picture his height better.

I've gotten really valuable things from TFW's B/S/T forum because people there are WAY less likely to charge scalper rape prices. I got SG Starscream 3 years ago for like 75 bucks shipped. Lots of other great deals have been had there (and even on the B/S/T threads on /toy/ actually).
If I'm feeling impatient and have cash to burn, I just use eBay.

Man, its crazy just how close to BW that concept art looks. It looks straight out of the 90's. Granted it wasn't that long ago when this concept art was drawn in 2006; only about 6 years after the last new BW toys; and a lot of the same designers where still at Takara anyway(and a lot still are,it seems).

Well, I just paid $230 for Botcon Megatron. Fuck it, it may be cheaper in the next few days but in the long run it's going to be damn near impossible to get a hold of. The 2006 Megatron can go for as much as over a fucking GRAND(yes, that's over $1,000 for a $30 mold), and this is actually based off a decent toy and actually has a beast mode, so I imagine this may get even worse. especially in an anniversary year where BW fans might actually have money to burn.
Besides, I really love that Megatron.

I got my MP Shockwave today!
You guys, I thought I was going to be totally disappointed, but I love him. I used the earlier-era stickers and clear hand options, and he looks great. He's also a lot less pastel than some of the pictures on here would suggest. The backpack chunk looks good and stays on. The gun mode fits perfectly in hand (my hand, at least) and lights up bright with a switch for individual shots and a slow fade in and out. The diecast paint isn't rubbing off (yet) and the hose spring has an inner string so it won't stretch unless you deliberately mess with it. His arms can do pretty much whatever, he has ankle tilts, and the ab crunch was a surprise. And his neck locks just fine, I don't know how people managed to just not pull hard enough.
Cons: The transformation shoulder ratchets make me nervous. It pulls the forward and backward rotation away from its socket when you move it inward and outward. Also the inner box panel on the left leg has trouble staying tabbed in. The biggest hindrance is the knee articulation, but that can be remedied by taking off that tiny piece at the back of the knee. The piece doesn't seem to be critical to lock anything in gun mode. I think I'm gonna leave it as-is, though, for the poses I want.
