I think maybe he might have a better chance against Cain or Reem this time around just based on the fact his diverticulitis is gone and he's actually in proper shape like when he bashed Mir's skull into the back of his head and when he somehow withstood Carwin and beat him. I remember that one, Carwin was undefeated at that point and was lighting people up.
I know it's a tired excuse but I'm not using it as an excuse, he lost those fights. He was obviously able to compete, he chose to fight at less than 100% which is admirable but the fact remains he did get beat. Now given the fact he's in good health and back in near-peak physique I think he would make the HW division very interesting again.
It may just be a stab in the cash cow but fuck, the fans do enjoy him and Dana needs SOMEONE to be the face of the company that can hold up. I've personally always associated him with UFC more than WWE even though I grew up watching wrestling, grew out of it when it got all PG.
One thing to note, I don't think Dana told Hunt to throw the fight or tank it. I think Hunt is just kinda over it at this point, he's just finishing his contract out, cashing in, and making his way. I don't think he gives a fuck about his record anymore, it's just a payday and if he wins then it's just a bonus.

I'm a big fight fan but i didn't even watch it, just scanned the highlights. The card was just mediocre. Miesha"worst champ in any division ever" headlining. Some WWE round freak fighting a fat can mashing Samoan was literally the most interesting fight on the card. The only other fights were some featherweight rejects snoring out an inevitable decision and some washed up heavyweights just scrubbing together shitty first round stoppage, without anyone ever thinking that Cain will be a legit heavyweights contender again. The card was shit. FN was literally better than this.

He looks in excellent shape I'd say, his cardio should be on par or else it will be after finally getting back in the cage. I think he was honestly just amped up, he seemed almost jolly in his demeanor. There was no mean streak, he was just having a blast and still showcased his athleticism and raw core strength.
Smarter/faster Reem would be a unique challenge but I think if anything it would make them perhaps more evenly matched with a slight edge to Brock in grappling and a slight edge to Reem in striking, Brock has the better chin though, well he did anyways, we'll see if that really gets tested..
He did seem pretty hesitant, I don't think the moment got to him or anything, I think he just genuinely didn't know quite how he was going to attack Brock because really, what can you do when you're at such a height and reach disadvantage and you're a pure striker? That's not even accounting for Brock's abnormal speed for his size and his wrestling skills, which aren't as technically sound, have a brutality to them that makes them not as boring as say Cormier.
I went into it all week saying Hunt was gonna walk-off(Muh meme) on Lesnar. Then that shit changed once I saw Lesnar step into the cage, it was clear as fucking day. Hunt definitely knew he was fighting a stark uphill battle and I think he just tanked through and did what he could to at least not get totally romped.
And yeah, Brock's always had a freakish physique. Go back to when he was in WWE the first time around. Though I'd still give the nod to prime Bill Goldberg on most freakish physique, that guy would've been fucking dominant had he gotten into MMA in his prime with the proper training.

I think that's his point. The key isn't stopping the take because Brock is just too fucking strong to rely on stopping every takedown. The key is being able to out grapple him from the bottom. Reem whooped his ass last time and I think a large part of it was that Brock wasn't able to muscle him, and taking away Brock's physical avantadge takes away his most potent weapon. In the post USADA era, I don't see anyone being able to take that advantadge away from him.
I think the top five are too much for him of course, but being able to get up from the TD is a lot more important that stopping the TD when it comes to brock I think
