Your rep scales a bit more in FM16. In FM15, if you were a former Intl player with all badges you'd have legendary reputation. In FM16 it's no longer the case. If you want better clubs to ask for your services, raise the rep of your club in Europe too, not just in your local meme league. At which point your club will be good enough shit that quitting for equivalent clubs will be pointless. It also depends of the length of your contract: the longer the contract, the less likely other clubs will ask for your services.

Even worse is when you know that is going to happen but the fan love him and he scores a winning goal in the cup final and you turn down stupid offers for him because your hubris says you can keep him playing at that level so the ridiculous money isn't a gross overpayment and you can avoid pissing off the fans.
And then you can't of course and he goes a year later for half of what you could've gotten, he has scored 5 goals all season and the fans are still pissed off anyway.
